Abstract

ABSTRAK. Pada studi ini mencoba untuk menganalisis suatu puisi berjudul ‘Kemuning’. Skala, kategori, linguistik sistemik fungsional yang dikembangkan oleh Halliday dan semiotik Pierce akan digunakan sebagai alat untuk menganalisisnya. Skala dan kategori terdiri dari empat kategori dasar yaitu unit, struktur, kelas dan sistem, tetapi ada hanya dua kategori yaitu unit dan struktur yang diambil untuk didiskusikan dalam tulisan ini.  Analisis puisi di bagi kedalam tiga bagian. Bagian pertama dihubungkan pada skala dan kategori. Bagian kedua dihubungkan dengan linguistik sistemik fungsional dan bagian ketiga merujuk ke pendekatan semiotik.Kata Kunci: Puisi ‘Kemuning’, Skala, Kategori, Linguistik Sistemik Fungsional   ABSTRACT.This study is try to analyse a poem which titled ‘Kemuning.’ The scale, category, systemic functional linguistics which are developed by Halliday, and Pierce’ semiotics used to back analyzing up. Scale and category consists of four basic categories namely unit, structure, classand system, but there are just two categories namely unit and structure taken in order to discussed here. The analyzing of poem is devided into three parts. Part one is related to scale and category.  Part two deal with systemic functional linguistics and the part three refere to semiotics.Keywords: poem ‘Kemuning’, Scale, Category, Systemic Functional Linguistics

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the structure of Tidore language verb phrase. Descriptive method is used of this study in order to describe the language phenomena in a certain period of time. The data are obtained through recording, elicitation, and retrospection from native speakers (Ahmad Rajak and Sabtu Puha) who settle at the Tidore subdistrict. The basis theory is Generative Grammar. The result of this study indicates that the structures of Tidore language verb phrases are constructed by the transitive verbs as a nucleus which followed by the attributes in the form of noun phrases and followed by noun phrases which can be developed by prepositional phrases and adverbial phrase as well. The positions of nucleus verbs are preceded by objective noun phrases. The transitive verbs of Tidore language have the affixes in the form of prefixes such as yo-, mo-, so-, wo-,. The verb phrases structure rules of Tidore language consist of FV → Spec + V’ + FN + FPrep, FV → Spec + V’ + FN + FAdv, FV → Spec + V’ + FN.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana fonologi, sintaksis, dan semantik diakuisisi atau diperoleh oleh anak yang berusia antara 3-5 tahun di Rawamangun, Jakarta Timur selama 10 (sepuluh) bulan pada bulan Desember 2018, Maret-Juli 2019 dan Januari-Mei 2020. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada seorang anak perempuan berusia 3 tahun 5 bulan bernama Nur Amalia Rachmawaty “LIA”. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara yang mendalam. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Lia menguasai vokal lengkap, yang terdiri dari huruf (a), I (u), (e), dan (o) yang diucapkan dengan jelas. Lia juga mahir merangkai beberapa kata untuk membentuk sebuah pernyataan. Namun, masih ada beberapa kesalahan di mana arti kata berbeda dari apa yang sebenarnya dimaksudkan, terlepas dari perkembangan semantik yang diperoleh Lia. Contoh untuk fonem konsonan /t/ Lia tidol mandi; /j/ Mbah jajan beli; /c/ tatak Uban macak-macak dulu ayo main? Kata-kata pada kalimat di atas merupakan kata-kata yang diucapkan oleh seorang anak yang belum menguasai bahasa Indonesia sepenuhnya, sehingga menggunakan kata-kata yang salah.

Abstract

Plagiarism is a pervasive and serious ethical issue that involves the unauthorized use or appropriation of someone else's ideas, words, or creative work without proper acknowledgment or permission. It is an act of intellectual dishonesty that undermines the principles of academic and professional integrity. The term encompasses various forms of misrepresentation, including copying and pasting text, paraphrasing without proper citation, and presenting someone else's work as one's own. Plagiarism can be a common issue in educational settings, and various factors contribute to its prevalence. Therefore, it is important to understand these factors, especially from students’ point of view in order to help teachers take proactive measures toward plagiarism effectively. Based on this case, the purpose of this study is to examine undergraduate students’ perspective on potential causes of plagiarism in academic writing through qualitative data collection methods. The data will be collected from students in the English Department, Faculty of Cultural Science, Universitas Khairun (Unkhair) through a series of interviews. Students selected for the interview are those who have previously taken a writing test in which their results contained plagiarism. The analysis includes several reasons on why students tend to plagiarize. These reasons are thus summarized in a form of ‘theme’, which is why; thematic analysis approach is used for analyzing the data. The main themes that emerge from the aforementioned problem are: poor awareness of plagiarism; poor academic writing skills; laziness behaviors; deadlines and pressures; teaching issues; lack of integrity, and; grade over knowledge. The study results show that the causes of plagiarism are varied, and the description provided by students are able to help developing a strategy against plagiarism so that students will be more cautious and prioritize their own original work and academic honesty.
