Abstract

Introduction: Affirmation - tapping interventions have been shown to reduce pain complaints in post-operative patients completing conventional treatment. This is thought to be due to serotonin performance but clinical studies have not been conducted. The aim was to compare the mean perception of the pain reported by post-operative patients given affirmation- tapping treatment with another treatment as a complementary nursing intervention. This was to see if the performance of the serotonin serum level is different from in other treatments. Methods: We used a randomized post-test only control group design carried out in parallel in post-caesarean section patients. The sample totaled 40 patients divided into four groups (10 in affirmation, 10 in tapping, 10 in affirmation-tapping and 10 in the control). They were obtained through simple random sampling. The instruments included affirmation-tapping guidelines, Elisa kits and the McGill - Melzack Pain Questionnaire short-form (MPQsf). The independent variable was the intervention of affirmation-tapping and the dependent variables were pain perception and serotonin level. The data was analyzed using simple linear regression. Results: The average variant of the serotonin levels in the affirmation-tapping treatment group was higher and thus differed significantly from the other groups. Conclusion: Affirmation-tapping as a complementary nursing intervention can increase the serotonin serum levels of the post-caesarean section patients by complementing conventional treatments. Participant pain complaints were lowest in the affirmation-tapping group with the highest serotonin levels present and these were significantly different to the other groups. Affirmation – tapping was recommended as a complementary intervention in nursing post-operative patients that complements conventional treatment.

Abstract

This research affects the development of independent abilities of clients with coronary heart disease/CHD, in order to reduce the risk of severe occurrence of heart attacks at home due to anxiety with self-relaxation with Video MD-My Friend. This type of research design is an action research with video media, namely MD-My Friend., to 200 CHD clients in the community with a study period of 8 months, using heart rate measurements and anxiety instruments, and univariate analysis, to assess the characteristics of related variables. And bivariate analysis, continued with multivariate analysis on the influence of three meaningful variables. Based on the results of multivariate tests found that the age of the client of CHD affects knowledge, skills and self-recovery in CHD treatment on the application of MD-My Friend with P Value 0.001. Worsening of health conditions in coronary heart disease clients who are at risk 6 times with anxiety experienced. So it can be predicted that the risk of death from CHD cases will increase. As a physiological response that threatens a person's internal physiological state or psychological well-being, anxiety can intervene independently in a good and correct way. Therefore MD-My Friend as one of the alternatives to self-intervention in the Client CHD in order to be able to reduce his anxious condition, which also affects the condition of the CHD. MD-My Friend’s video has been shown to have an effect on knowledge, Skills and self-recovery are meaningful.

Abstract

The evidence-based approach in Indonesia has not yet developed, including the use of research results in practice. Thus it is necessary to grow the attitude, willingness, awareness, and ability to develop EBNP or transform research results into practice so that nurses can improve the "quality of care" for patients. The purpose of community service activities is to improve the professional ability of nurses at RSUD Dr. Sososdoro Djatikoesoemo Bojonegoro in providing Nursing Care through an Evidence-based Nursing Practice (EBNP) workshop. The workshop took place on May 24-25, 2022, and was attended by 30 nurses from the Inpatient Installation. Nurses' knowledge was measured by an evaluation that use pre-test and post-test methods. The skills evaluation was conducted online on July 23, 2022, by presenting the EBNP project plan to be carried out. Community service participants are nurses at RSUD Dr. R Sosodoro Djatikoesoemo Bojonegoro who has characteristics of most (45%) nurses having an age between 41-50 years and having a working period of 11-20 years (44%), and most (67%) educated in Nurses. The functional positions of the most community service participants are Associate Expert nurses at 37% and there are Main Expert Nurses as much as 4%. The results of the activities through the Workshop showed an increase in the capacity of nurses regarding EBNP who previously had very poor knowledge of 19 people (63.3%) and increased to very good knowledge of 12 people (40.0%). Nurses who initially lacked knowledge increased to 3 people (10.0%) with good knowledge, but there were still 7 people (23.3%) who lacked knowledge. However, not all nurses have participated in the EBNP workshop, so it is necessary to conduct a workshop for the next generation so that all nurses can carry out nursing interventions based on evidence-based.

Abstract

There is currently a severe dearth of evidence-based nursing practice (EBNP) utilization among nurses. Because of this, it's essential to enhance nurses' professional skills through workshops and training. Enhancing nurses' capacity to deliver nursing interventions grounded in Evidence-Based Nursing Practice is the goal of this activity. The EBNP workshop is used to carry out the activity approach. The nurses at Dr. RSUD are participants in this activity, or one of its strategic target audiences. There were thirty persons in Sososdoro Djatikoesoemo Bojonegoro. The information is given through lectures, Q&A sessions, practica, field research, literature reviews, and searches. Results and debate come in third. Prior to training, most people's initial understanding of EBNP was quite inadequate; up to 19 individuals (76%). After participating in training sessions that included talks and worksheets on EBNP, it was discovered that the number of participants who started off with very little understanding had increased by 12 (44%). Three nurses (11%), whose expertise was initially inadequate, improved to good. In summary The asking phase, which involves creating clinical questions, has been accomplished by the nurse. In the first step, known as acquisition, participants seek for the best available data on the subject selected in accordance with the clinical question. In the third step, known as evaluation, participants critically evaluate the data they have found. Still, nurses are unable to perform the subsequent actions, which are Applying, Assessing, and Disseminating. It is advised.

Abstract

Tim Gerak Cepat (TGC) is one of Surabaya's command centers that serves various real time reports related to medical emergencies, one of which is cardiac arrest. Not every time TGC can arrive to provide rapid assistance, which can be influenced by inadequate road access to the location. This causes the provision of help including help for victims of cardiac arrest to be delayed. The objectives is to analyze the video effectiveness and demonstration methods on the ability to perform BLS on youth organizations RW 04 Ambengan Tengah Surabaya. Using pre-experimental using Two Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study population was all youth organizations in RW 04 Ambengan Tengah Surabaya. The research sample amounted to 36 adolescents who were selected by random sampling by meeting the inclusion criteria. The data analysis used was the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney test. The Wilcoxon test showed that both methods could improve knowledge about BLS with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) and could improve adolescents' skills in performing BLS with a significance value in the video group of 0.002 while in the demonstration group it was 0.001 (p<0.05). The different results score pre-test post-test knowledge of both methods with the Mann Whitney test showed a significance value in 0.129 (p <0.05) while the skill different score pre-test post-test had a significance 0.500 (p>0.05) value . This shows that between the video and demonstration methods there is no significant difference.

Abstract

Stroke is a sudden attack on brain tissue that causes cell death and is the second most common killer on a global scale, right after cardiovascular disease. Hemiparesis (weakness) and hemiplegia (paralysis) are motor impairments that can result from a stroke. Families must ROMPA MATREH for this reason. Those who have had a stroke can regain strength via the use of massage treatment and range-of-motion exercises. The goal of this research at Puskesmas Pucang Sewu is to find out how much of an impact family support through ROMPA MATREH has on helping stroke survivors regain strength in their lower extremities. The research strategy used in this study is a one-group pre-post test. Included in the population are all stroke patients within the working area of Puskesmas Pucang Sewu from January to August 2024, totaling 135 individuals, averaging 17 patients per month. The sample for this study includes 16 post-stroke respondents from Puskesmas Pucang Sewu, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection utilized the SOP Manual Muscle Testing to assess lower extremity muscle strength. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The study results indicate that the lower extremity muscle strength before ROMPA MATREH by families was predominantly in categories 2 and 3. After ROMPA MATREH by families, most participants' lower extremity muscle strength improved to category 3. Conclusion: There is an effect of ROMPA MATREH by families on the improvement of lower extremity muscle strength in post-stroke patients within the working area of Puskesmas Pucang Sewu.
