Abstract

Ecotourism on Pahawang Island is a well-known tourist destination in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province with has mangrove ecosystem covers an area of 141.94 ha. Unfortunately, in 2016, there was logging of the mangrove ecosystem on Pahawang Island which caused the mangrove ecosystem to suffer damage. This must be immediately responded to by conducting efforts to protect, conserve and manage the mangrove ecosystem by inviting the community to contribute. This research aimed to identify the characteristics and estimate the value of the visitor's willingness to pay for mangrove conservation efforts on Pahawang Island. This research was conducted in December 2019. The research data was collected using the multistage sampling method. The variables used in this study were willingness to pay, bid, income, education, age, gender, city of origin, marital status and tourism frequency. The results of this study are based on the characteristics of mangrove ecosystem tourists on Pahawang Island, namely, most visitors are willing to contribute to mangrove conservation efforts, come from outside Lampung Province, average age is between 20-29 years, average have a history of high school education, with income is less than Lampung minimum wages (Rp2,432,001.57), most of the respondents are not working and are not married. The result is showing estimated value of the willingness to pay of IDR5,000/individual per visit with an estimated cost of IDR 254,661,000/year.

Abstract

East Lampung Regency has a coastal area of East Lampung with 316 ha. One of the coastal tourist areas owned by East Lampung Regency is Shells Mas Beach. This beach has a fairly long coastline where there are a lot of bivalves, but the inventory of the types of bivalves on the beach. The purpose of the research is to analyze both the species diversities of bivalves and physical also chemical conditions of the waters. The research methodology used purposive sampling method analysis of species abundance data, diversity index, and index dominance. From the result of the bivalve diversities on the coast, bivalve the most common found are is Matra grandis,it is found out that there is no dominating bivalve amongst them due to below normal dominating rate that is 0,08-0,16 to be considered low level (00,00<C≤0,30); middle with diversity index 2,18–2,70 (2<H’≤3); high with index diversity 0,85–0,94 (E>0,6). The highest abundance value at station 1 is 4787.01 ind/m3 and the lowest species abundance value at station 3 is138.75 ind/m3. From the results of the chemical physics measurements, it shows that it still is in the range of sea water quality standards. The Bivalve diversity relationship shows a positive correlation to the parameters of salinity, grain size, and sediment TSS. Meanwhile, it shows negative correlation for parameters DO, pH and temperature.

Abstract

Sulphur goatfish (Upeneus sulphureus) is the dominant caught with a fairly high level of utilization. This research aimed to analyze aspects of growth and reproduction sulphur goatfish caught by rampus nets landed at the fishing port of PPI Kalianda. Growth aspects that were observed included the length-weight, while the reproductive aspects observed is the sex ratio, gonad maturity level, and the size of sulphur goatfish at first maturity. This research was conducted in May-July 202 with the research method used simple random sampling method. The fish samples obtained during the study were 600 individuals, the results showed that Sulphur goatfish had negative allometric growth. The equation for the long-weight relationship of sulphur goatfish is log W = -4,6 + 2,9 log L or W = 2,8x10-5L2,9. The sex ratio of sulphur goatfish in May and July were not 1: 1, while the ideal condition was achieved in June. The gonad maturity level distribution of sulphur goatfish was dominated by TKG III and IV for female, while male sulphur goatfish was dominated by TKG II and III. Size at first maturity of sulphur goatfish females was 169,1 ± 1,03mm.
