Abstract

The textbook based on Soft-skills are targeted to create student-centered learning so that they can encourage students to learn more actively in solving problems and finding more independent sources of learning and improving the quality of Soft-skills contained in the process of applying the textbook. This research was conducted in the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2018/2019 in the Study Program DIII Refraction Optician (RO) STIKES HAKLI Semarang with the number of participants of 50 students. The research development (R & D) in this study aims to produce Optical Physics textbooks using the Soft skills. The stages of this research include define, design, develop and disseminate. The research design used in the trial application of this textbook was a quasi-experimental design with the form of pretest-posttest control group-design. The results of the study show that the development of Optical Physics textbook based on Soft-skills has gone through a validation process and has been stated to fulfill the content validity set by the expert, so the developed textbook is declared valid. Increasing student activity with an average score of 3.4 shows very active criteria that have a positive effect on the value of student learning outcomes. The results of the analysis of students’ questionnaire sheets showed that the learning process was fun and easy to understand the material taught with data 87,3% of students were happy and stated practical. The application of textbooks based on Soft-skills can significantly improve student learning outcomes and their Soft-skills.

Abstract

Advances in information technology have led to an increase in the use of smartphones in various learning activities, including among students. This study aims to determine the effect of long term smartphone use on a sharp decline in vision in students of SMA Negeri 1 Wuryantoro, Wonogiri. This study uses an observational analytical approach with a cross sectional design. The population in the study was all grade XII students with a total of 108 respondents, which were taken using saturated sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and basic vision checks. The results showed that most students used smartphones for more than two hours per day (81.48%) and 67.59% of them experienced eye fatigue. In addition, 36.11% of respondents admitted to experiencing a sharp decrease in vision, while the results of the visual examination strengthened the findings. The identified causative factors include duration of use, visibility, lighting intensity, and lack of eye rest habits. Most students are unaware of prevention methods such as the 20-20-20 rule and rarely have regular eye exams. In conclusion, there is a relationship between the duration of smartphone use and a sharp decrease in vision. Eye health education is needed through socialization, smartphone use timing, and regular vision checks as a preventive effort to maintain students' eye health. This research is expected to be the basis for policy interventions in the school environment to increase awareness of the importance of maintaining eye health from an early age, as well as a reference for further research related to digital health in adolescents.

Abstract

Glasses are an important need of people with the growth of increasing use. Consideration of user comfort is the determinant of purchasing decisions. The purpose of the study was to analyze the influence of user comfort level on the decision to purchase glasses. The study used a sample of 20 respondents using questionnaires and Field Research methods, which were carried out through observation in the field to obtain empirical information in accordance with existing reality. The nature of the research is qualitative descriptive, which is research that produces descriptive data to get an idea of the reality of certain social phenomena. The user's comfort level has a significant effect on the purchase decision, with indicators of refraction check (90%), lens type (85%), frame fitting (95%), and frame material (80%). The conclusion obtained from the study is that optical stores must increase the level of user comfort to increase sales.
