Abstract

This Article represent result of conducted by research at Sasana Sewaka  pendapa in Keraton Surakarta. used by Type Research is qualitative by using approach  of hermeneutik. From result of analysis can be conduded, that classified decorative  manner form to become geometric form, flora, fauna, calligraphy, and other jorms.  location of decorative Manner, classified to become two, that is decorative manner  which have the character of constructive and decorative manner which have the character  of patching. Function from decorative manner is as building element decorator, sacral  function symbolic, and social junctionKeyword: Form, Function, Decorative Manner.

Abstract

This article is a part of the results of my research on "The Shape, Function and Meaning Changes of Interior Design of The Prince's Residence in Surakarta". The research was carried out using  literature and observation methods. The research aimed at studying the historical development of Javanese traditional houses from time to time.This study covered the prehistoric period, the  influence of Hindu-Buddhist period, of the Islamic period, of Western period, Kasunanan in Surakarta period and the independence period of Indonesia. The result of the research showed that the  house of a Javanese had its basic shape although it was very simple. The basic shape of a Javanese traditional house was called as a local genius. The architecture of a Javanese traditional  house had developed into a better shape over time. The shape development was influenced internally and externally by Islam, Hindu and Buddhist and Western (European) culture. These various influences were processed by Javanese people into a new form without leaving the original form behind.Key words: development, house, traditional, Java

Abstract

This article represents observation result towards traditional architecture elements of Java on public space interior in Surakarta. Observation is carried out to the public buildings as a hotel, museum, restaurant, office, etc. It can be found from the observation that there are some public buildings in Surakarta which adopted the traditional architecture elements of Java as room shaping element and aesthetic element in creating room interior nuance of Javanese style.Keyword : application, traditional, architecture, Java, interior

Abstract

The study, entitled “The Optimizing of Surakarta Traditional Batik, The Implementationin Tradition-Based Accessories as strengthening efforts Surakarta Local Culture in the Global Era” to analyze and embodies Surakarta traditional batik as one of the mainstays of traditional souvenirs can be adaptable to support regional tourism and strengthening the local culture in the globalization era. A problem in the study is the lack of optimal utilization Surakarta batik as the souvenirs objects of tourist destination. The Weak sensitivity of craftsmen to the cultural wealth of the archipelago in Surakarta, in particular batik, is seen as a serious problem in an effort to optimize the Surakarta traditional batik. Identification analysis of Surakarta batik used as the indicator of first year performance to find solutions maps of design offer. Experiments conducted in ISI Surakarta by involving the team with the craftsmen. The method used in the first year using the method of content analysis, observation, interviews, experimental design with hermeneutic approach supported by a design, proposed by social, cultural, and psychological approach. The location is done in Surakarta. Data sources include the results of the work, which is a typical batik in Surakarta, informants, cultural figure, craftsmen, the general public, and literature related to the problem. Data collection technique is the study of literature, observations, and interviews. The validity of the data by using triangulation data and the analysis is the interactive analysis model to see the meaning behind the work of design objects. In the analysis phase of design formulation will using SWOT analysis. The focus of the second year of activities such as experimentation, education and training of craftsmen, try out, exhibition and sale of works of accessories, evaluation, refinement and accessories design concept, formulation of recommendations.
