Abstract

This paper will discuss several things that are still a problem among Christians themselves, especially regarding Baptism and Salvation. Baptism and salvation are important parts of Christian teaching for believers to understand and teach, but this topic is also a phenomenon that is more frequently discussed among Christians themselves. Differences in church doctrine have often sparked debate with no exception to the issue of baptism and salvation. This paper is intended to look from the biblical point of view in order to have a biblical understanding. For this reason, in this paper it discusses what Peter really meant was the basis of salvation.

Abstract

The problem of this research lies in God's expression which says that "I love Jacob but hate Esau" this expression seems to be inversely proportional to the qualities possessed by God himself where God is a loving God, God is just and righteous. This trait is in stark contrast to the expression in Malachi 1:2-3 as if God did not love Esau. This discussion aims to find out the meaning of the sentence I love Jacob but hate Esau in Malachi 1:2-5 and to find out whether this text speaks of the idea of ​​double predestination. So this writing uses a biblical literature research approach. However, the analysis and literature used is taken from various sources to get accurate results. The conclusion of this paper explains that the purpose of God's expression is God showing that the God of the Israelites as proof that God loves Jacob, and God's purpose of hating Esau does not mean "hate" but it means "lack of love". Also in the conclusion of this discussion, it is answered that there is no idea of ​​double predestination but rather the sovereignty of God in choosing people who receive the promise of blessings.

Abstract

Criticism comes to the text of John 14:16. Criticism comes especially to the phrase "one helps another". Criticism comes with various types of interpretation. From various interpretations, there is an assumption that the phrase "another helper" in John 14:16 does not refer to the Holy Spirit. There are four critics who doubt the phrase. Criticism of theology, interpretation, etymology and equating of texts with books of other faiths. An analysis of John 14:16 is needed to answer the criticism of the phrase "another helper" in John 14:16. The analysis becomes an apologetic study of this criticism. With apologetics, in the end this article answers that the phrase "a helper to another" is the Holy Spirit. Abstrak Bahasa Indonesia Kritisi datang kepada teks Yohanes 14:16. Kritisi datang khususnya kepada frasa “seorang penolong yang lain”. Kritisi datang dengan berbagai macam jenis penafsiran. Dari berbagai macam penafsiran, terdapat asumsi bahwa frasa “seorang penolong yang lain” dalam Yohanes 14:16 bukanlah merujuk kepada Roh Kudus. Terdapat empat kritisi yang meragukan frasa tersebut. Kritisi teologi, interpretasi, etimologi dan penyepadanan teks dengan kitab kepercayaan lain. Dibutuhkan analisis terhadap Yohanes 14:16 untuk menjawan kitisi frasa “seorang penolong yang lain” dalam Yohanes 14:16. Analisisnya menjadi sebuah kajian apologetika terhadap kritisi tersebut. Dengan apologetika, pada akhirnya artikel ini menjawab bahwa frasa “seorang penolong yang lain” adalah Roh Kudus.
