Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic complication that is serious and can cause an increase in world mortality rates. the efforts that have been made by the community are the use of complementary herbal therapies, namely Corn Silk. The study aimed at examining the effect of giving corn hair ethanol extract (Zea mays L) to decrease glucose levels. Methods: This study used a true-experimental, pre and post with a control group that was applied in this study. Eighteen mice tail samples were recruited using random allocation technique sampling and divided into two groups (interventions and control groups). Data analysis was performed and presented in descriptive statistics, and significant findings were computed using the paired t-test. Results: The results showed that the decrease in Glucose intervention group downhill from 144,33+11,543 to 137,78+5,740 after the intervention. Meanwhile, in the control group, the mean in Glucose increase from 134,00+10,124 to 153,78+7,412. The paired t-test obtained a p-value of 0.000, indicating that there were significant differences in the effect of giving corn hair ethanol extract (Zea mays L) to decrease glucose levels the intervention and the control group. Conclusion: Giving Corn Silk Ethanol Extract (Zea Mays L) can decrease Decrease Glucose Levels. Keywords: Corn Silk, Ethanol Extract, Glucose Levels.

Abstract

Hypertension is a sickness that frequently happens in the older. One way to reduce high blood pressure is to do elderly exercise regularly. In some studies blood pressure can increase shortly after physical activity. This study plans to depict changes in circulatory strain in the wake of doing older practice in old individuals with hypertension. This study utilizes an expressive observational plan with a cross sectional methodology. The sample in this study was 30 respondents, namely elderly people who experienced hypertension in Sundul Village, Parang District, Magetan Regency, who took part in elderly gymnastics. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Observation of blood pressure was carried out 30 minutes after doing elderly exercise. The information examination procedure was done spellbindingly. The outcomes showed that the greater part of the respondents' systolic circulatory strain diminished with a typical decline of 12.57 mmHg. The conclusion of the study that elderly exercise can reduce systolic blood pressure.

Abstract

Excessive stress and obesity are factors that cause hypertension that are often not realized, poor psychological conditions and lifestyle patterns that are full of stressors will risk the impact of hypertension problems, if left untreated this disease can interfere with the function of other organs, such as the heart and kidneys. This study aims to determine whether stress levels are related to the incidence of obesity in people with hypertension. This study used a cross-sectional bivariate analysis method with a chi-square statistical test (Contingency Coefficient) with a sample of 55 respondents, the sampling technique used purposive sampling with the criteria of respondents who suffered from hypertension. The results showed that the stress level of most respondents experienced moderate stress as many as 28 people (50.9%) and most were obese as many as 34 people (61.8%). There is a relationship between stress levels and the incidence of obesity in people with hypertension with a p-value = 0.003 <α = 0.05. This condition can be followed up with efforts by health workers to provide education to people with hypertension in managing stress, dealing with emotions, and maintaining mental health as well as diet and exercise in achieving sustainable weight control. Thus, when stress and obesity are well managed, it will reduce the risk of hypertension recurrence in respondents.
