Abstract

Tulisan ini mengkaji tentang tradisi Mattampung di masyarakat Bugis yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan kacamata Living Qur’an. Tradisi Mattampung merupakan upacara penanaman batu nisan sebagai pengganti batu nisan yang ditanam saat mayat dikuburkan. Dalam tradisi ini, dilakukan khataman al-Qur’an dan tahlilan. Tradisi ini dilakukan dengan harapan semua doa dari masyarakat akan sampai pada orang yang meninggal sehingga diberikan tempat yang tenang di sisi-Nya. Kajian ini berfokus pada masyarakat desa Barugae kabupaten Bone, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode etnografi, yakni suatu desain kualitatif di mana peneliti mendeskripsikan dan menafsirkan pola-pola yang sama dari nilai-nilai, perilaku, keyakinan dan bahasa dari suatu kelompok yang berkebudayaan-sama. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan tradisi mattampung di Desa Barugae Kecamatan Lamuru Kabupaten Bone merupakan bentuk resepsi masyarakat setempat terhadap kemuliaan mengkhatamkan al-Qur’an serta anjuran untuk mendoakan orang yang meninggal. Dengan demikian, tradisi ini menjadi wadah bagi masyarakat setempat untuk mengirimkan doa dan mengkhatamkan al-Qur’an dengan tujuan pahala dari doa dan khataman tersebut bisa sampai kepada orang yang meninggal serta dapat memudahkannya dalam kehidupan selanjutnya.

Abstract

This article discusses the reception of hadith as the basis for the Baku tradition in the celebration of the Prophet's Birthday by the people of Balang Caddi Island. It based on the thesis that in human reception of religious texts there is an informative and performative side. In this context, the hadith of love for the Prophet can be seen from an informative and performative perspective. From an informative point of view, the hadith about the love of the Prophet implies that those who love the Prophet Muhammad will be with the Prophet in Heaven. Meanwhile, from a performative perspective, the community implement the Maulid tradition as was done by the people of Balang Caddi Island. This performative side constantly undergo transmission and transformation from one place and time to another. To understand it, the author makes analytical observations, namely observing and experiencing the celebration of the Baku tradition. The result of this research is that the Birthday of the Prophet among the people of Balang Caddi Island is an effort to maintain the transmission of the values ​​of love to Allah and the Prophet Muhammad in the form of the Baku tradition. As a form of transformation, the Baku tradition in the Prophet's Birthday among the Community includes the Prophet's Birthday night at the Darul Dakwah Wal Irsyad School, and the Prophet's Birthday at the Darus Sa'adah Mosque, as well as the Pabagang context related to the time and form of the Prophet's Birthday celebration.

Abstract

This article analyzes the meaning of contextual word of ahl in surah an-Nisa'/4: 58 through the approach of ma‘na-cum-magza of Sahiron Syamsuddin’s which was then linked with the context of the Qur’anic scholarship in Indonesia. In the understanding of the revelation era, ahl refer to Usman ibn Talhah as a man who was expert in keeping the key of the Ka’bah. The meaning of the word ahl was apparently not a single one, but experiencing variations between one interpretation and others, from classic to modern-contemporary. So the meaning of ahl can be developed in the current context of Indonesia, including the context of the Qur’anic scholarship. This article discussed the initial understanding (ma‘na) ahl through context analysis (micro and macro) and linguistic analysis (intra-textuality and inter-textuality) critically. Furthermore, this study draws significant understanding of ahl which is linked with the discourse of Qur’anic scholarship in Indonesia as the person who studies the Qur’an seriously. The term ahl thus could legitimize the Qur’anic scholar as ahl Al-Qur’ān. Who has a comprehensive, responsible, to be fair in interpreting the Qur’an. They are those are the Qur’anic scholars who have a competence and responsibility and just attitude in interpreting the Qur’an.
