Abstract

This Thesis is entitled A Contrastive Analysis of Interrogative Sentences of English and Mandarin Language that focused in the analysis of the contrastive of interrogative sentences between English and Mandarin languages especially in the Question Words. Contrastive Analysis is the technique for determining the similarities and dissimilarities between two or more languages with the principal aim of the pinpointing their implications for language teaching and learning. By investigating the mapping of the question words onto the grammatical level, this research looks at both function and aims at discovering some of the factors that influence the forming interrogative sentences. The writer collects and analyzes interrogative sentences from the question words in some book and interviews some native speakers of English and Mandarin language. The theories used to analyze is about interrogative pronouns, interrogative adjectives and interrogative adverbs. The purpose of this research is to find the formation of interrogative sentences in English and Mandarin and to find out the similarities and dissimilarities between English and Mandarin interrogative sentences. The result of this research are expected to (1) provide insight into similarities and dissimilarities between Mandarin and English question words for other researchers and the readers, (2) to provide some information as well as useful contribution for the students and the teacher in department of English, (3) to give detailed description of the similarities and dissimilarities between languages contrasted to teachers who indulge in teaching foreign languages. The writer realises this thesis is still far from perfect. Therefore, every suggestion, criticism are well accepted and highly appreciated.

Abstract

This research aims at describing pararelism in sentences on online news detikmedan.com reviewed from the alignment ofthe form. The research was conducted on the detikmedan.com online news text. The method used is a qualitative researchmethod directed at the linguistic data. The source of this research data is a sentence in the news text on online newsdetikmedan.com. Sampling is done gradually. The results showed that there were 14 sentences that had proper pararelismin the news text being reviewed from the alignment of the form. There are 10 sentences that have erroneous parerism in thenews text being reviewed from the alignment of the form.

Abstract

This research is aimed at getting the result of moral value in Batman V Superman movie "Dawn of Justice" directed by ZackSynder. The method of research that is used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. This reserach also used twoapproaches, psychological approach and structural approach. Technique of collecting data by collecting VCD and watchingthe film. The technique analysis the data uses qualitative research. Finally, the result of this research show that this movieportary morality from Batman V Superman movie "Dawn of Justice" by Zack Synder. This movie teach us how to be a betterperson by seeing the positive of moral value in the movie and did not take anything negative in the film. Based on thediscussion, The writer want to tell the moral value which showed in Batman V Superman movie "Dawn of Justice" by ZackSynder to all of the readers, and the writer also hope the readers could take the main point from it.

Abstract

This study concerns investigates the value of the use of code switching in English teaching learning process in junior highschool. Student and a teacher in SMP INTI NUSANTARA Tebing Tinggi involve as the subjects of this study. The purpose ofthis research is to investigate the value of lesson study in used code switching by the teacher. This case study obtaine thedata by ways of observations among students and teacher in class. This research aim to analyze the types of code switchingused by the teacher and the students. The reserach methodology uses qualitative. Qualitative research involves collectingdata from observation. The function of this research is how far is the useful of code switching in teaching learning in class.Generally this study has a treatment which came up from the teaching learning process in class.

Abstract

This study concerns investigates the value of the use Verbal communication is the use of words to share information with other people. It can therefore include both spoken and written communication. However, many people use the term to describe only spoken communication. The verbal element of communication is all about the words that you choose, and how they are heard and interpreted. The purpose of this research is to Encouraging a child to use verbal communication is an important step in their overall development and it is important that you open them up to as many different voices and words as possible, in order to help them grow. The people they have around them in terms their childcare are ideal for helping to develop communication skills. Playing games, encouraging conversation, and simple naming activities are all fantastic tools which can encourage verbal communication back and forth.
