Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is an incurable disease, as a result many patients are bored and disobedient in treatment, this results in uncontaminated blood sugar levels. Success in treatment is influenced by patient compliance with treatment which is a major factor in the success of treatment. One of the factors that play a role in the failure to control the blood sugar levels of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is the factor of patient non-compliance with treatment. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of adherence to taking oral anti-diabetic drugs to blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Medan Area South health center. Sampling uses a total sampling technique with a total sample of 243 patients. The instrument for collecting primary data using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale 8 items questionnaire (MMAS-8) to see the level of adherence of patients with diabetes mellitus. The results of the study: patients with low medication adherence amounted to 148 people (60.91%), moderate obedience 56 people (23.05%), and high compliance 39 people (16.05%). The patient's taking medicine was obtained based on consultation data and the remaining drugs that the patient informed the medical staff. Compliance with taking anti-diabetic drugs with blood sugar levels was obtained, there were 18 out of 243 (7.4%) patients who had adherence to taking low medication with normal blood sugar conditions. Whereas among patients who had adherence to taking medication on a medium scale there were 31 out of 56 (12.6%) of the total samples having adherence to taking moderate medication with normal blood sugar conditions. the statistical test results obtained P value (sig) = 0.027 smaller (<) than 0.05: then the hypothesis was accepted (H0 rejected and Ha accepted) and it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of adherence to taking the patient's blood sugar levels at the Community Health Center Medan South Area.

Abstract

The prevalence of Anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia reaches 63,5% and in Bandar Khalipah Tembung CommunityHealth Center increased from 19,3% (2018) to 24,9% (2019). Pregnant women with anemia will experience an increased riskof morbidity and mortality. This study was to determine the factors that affects the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.Analytical observational study with cross sectional design using secondary data from medical records from January toDecember 2019. The subjects of this study were 44 pregnant women in their third trimester at the Bandar Khalipah TembungCommunity Health Center with total sampling. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The results showed that the mostpregnant women with multigravida were 15 people (55,6%), low education level were 17 people (77,3%) and low economicstatus were 14 people (63,6%). Factors related to incidence of anemia in pregnant women are educational level (p-value0,001) and economic status (p-value 0,005). Educational level and economic status are factors that affects the incidence ofanemia in pregnant women.

Abstract

Pterygium is a non-malignant fibrovascular growth, which is triangular in shape with a central apex or in the cornea.The results of the Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) in 2013, the prevalence of pterygium in Indonesia was 8.3% withjobs as farmers/fishermen which had the highest prevalence of pterygium (15.8%). This research is a descriptive study withaapproach cross sectional and a sampling method with a purposive sampling method. The number of respondents whomatch the inclusion and exclusion criteria in this study amounted to 32 people. The measuring instrument in this study isconducting direct interviews as primary data. Distribution and frequency based on length of time as fishermen 5-10 years(3%), 10-20 years (16%),>20 years (81%), length of fishing 5-8 hours (12%),>8 hours (88% ), history of smoking (90.6%),family history (59.4%), grade II pterygium (56.3%). Hoped that the distribution and frequency of this pterygium can helpprevent the occurrence of pterygium and blindness due to advanced degrees of pterygium.
