Abstract

Contraception is an effort to prevent pregnancy, these efforts can be temporary, or can also be permanent. From year toyear the population in Indonesia is increasing. Contraceptive use is influenced by the level of education and level ofknowledge. To find out the relationship between the level of education and mother's knowledge on the use of contraceptivesin health fostered families, Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah, North Sumatra Class 2016 in Medan JohorDistrict, North Sumatra, 2019. This research is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design and total sampling.Forty-five mothers. 26 people (57.8%) did not use contraception and 19 people (42.2%) did not use contraception. From theanalysis data, P = 0,000 (P <0.05) shows that there is a significant relationship between education level and mother'sknowledge of contraceptive use. Mother's level of education and knowledge can influence the use of contraceptives.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk given to babies from birth for 6 months, without adding and/or replacing with other foods or drinks. The implementation of Exclusive Breastfeeding has several benefits, one of which is to reduce infant mortality. However, the prevalence of the implementation of Exclusive ASI in Indonesia is still very low. The purpose of the study was to find out whether or not there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding on the nutritional status of infants, especially in infants aged 4 - 6 months. This type of research was descriptive analytic research with a cross - sectional design. The subjects in this study were infants aged 4 - 6 months at Melati Pasar VI Puskesmas Melati II Village, Perbaungan District, North Sumatra in November 2018, with total of 24 people. This research uses total sampling and data analysis using the Fisher test. Data retrieved through filling in questionnaires, weighing body weight, measuring height, upper arm circumference and head circumference. The study results of infants that exclusively breastfed with good nutritional status as many as 15 people (88.2%), infants who were given exclusive breastfeeding with poor nutritional status as many as 2 people (11.8%), infants who were not breastfed exclusively comes up with good nutritional status by 1 person (14.3%) and babies that are not given exclusive breastfeeding with poor nutritional status as many as 6 people (85.7%). Fisher's test results obtained p - value = 0.001. There is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding on the nutritional status of infants, especially in infants aged 4 - 6 months.

Abstract

Papanicolaou Test or pap smear is a gynecological screening method. First performed by Georgis Papanikolau to discover aprocess of premalignant or malignancies in the ectocervix or the outside of the cervix and infection in endocervix or theinside of the endometrium. Early detection of cervical cancer in Indonesia is very low. The pap smear examination isinfluenced by the level of education and knowledge. To find out the Relationship of Education Level with Mother's Knowledgeof Pap Smear Examination in the Health Fostered Family Area of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah,North Sumatra 2016 Force in Medan Johor District, North Sumatra in 2019. This research method is descriptive analytic withcross sectional design and the data was collected by a total sampling technique. Forty-five mothers and respondents with anelementary education level and knowledge level of less than 19 people (100%). respondents with secondary education leveland secondary knowledge level of 20 people (100%). respondents with a high level of education and a good level ofknowledge are 6 people (100%). From the analysis data obtained P = 0,000 (P <0.05) this is related to the relationshipbetween the level of education with the mother's knowledge of the pap smear examination. The mother’s level of educationand knowledge can help with pap smear examination.
