Abstract

Mutu dari ikan tuna yang didaratkan di PPS Bungus sangat tergantung dari proses penanganannya mulai dari penangkapan sampai didaratkan dan dibongkar untuk dijual ke agen atau perusahaan penampung.  Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui proses penanganan ikan tuna sirip kuning yang didaratkan di PPS Bungus Kota Padang Sumatera Barat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan melakukan pengamatan, wawancara dan observasi langsung ke lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa proses penanganan  ikan tuna sirip kuning di PPS Bungus melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu: 1) Penanganan diatas kapal 2) Penanganan saat bongkar muat dari dalam kapal 3) pemeriksaan oleh petugas 4) pengangkutan ke PT. Dempo 5) penanganan di PT DempoKata Kunci:  Padang, Penanganan, PPS Bungus, Tuna Sirip KuningThe quality of tuna landed at PPS Bungus is very dependent on the handling process, from catching to landing and unloading to be sold to agents or collection companies. The purpose of this study was to determine the handling process of yellowfin tuna landed at PPS Bungus, Padang City, West Sumatra. The method used in this research is a survey method by making observations, interviews and direct observations in the field. The results showed that the yellowfin tuna handling process at PPS Bungus went through several stages, that is: 1) Handling on board 2) Handling when loading and unloading from the ship 3) inspection by officers 4) transportation to PT. Abstract

Bubu is a passive fishing gear designed to catch various types of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and others, with various shapes and made of various materials. One type is a folding umbrella trap which is now widely operated in the waters of Jangkat, Jambi. The main catch target is seluang fish. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of the number of entrances (funnels) on the average catch and to determine the effectiveness of umbrella traps. The research method is experimental fishing. The results showed that there was a difference in the average catches of funnel 6 and funnel 8 traps based on the results of the calculation of T hit (2.85) T tab (2.18). Umbrella traps of funnel 6 and funnel 8 are not effective in catching seluang fish (Rasbora argyotaenia) because E 1. However, folding umbrella traps can be said to be effective in catching seluang fish when viewed from the number of catches per species, not based on target and non-target fish.
