<![CDATA[This study aims to improve the learning process and increase students' motivation to learn mathematics through the application of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model for students of SMAN 4 Jambi City in the 2017/2018 academic year. The subjects of this study were 44 students of class XI IPA 1 of SMA Negeri 4 Jambi City, consisting of 20 male students and 24 female students. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection in this study was carried out using observation sheets of teacher and student activities and learning motivation questionnaires. Observation actions were carried out during the learning process, while learning motivation questionnaires were distributed three times, namely before the action, after the first cycle and after the second cycle. Based on the data obtained from the motivation questionnaire, the overall motivation of students before the action was 68.10%, while the motivation after the first cycle was 72.47% and after the second cycle was 76.38%. The learning process in the classroom shows improvement and the teacher is no longer the only source in learning, students pay attention when the teacher explains learning and student activity in class has begun to increase. From the results of the research and discussion, it is concluded that the application of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model can improve the learning process and increase students' motivation to learn mathematics in class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Jambi City. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) untuk siswa SMAN 4 Kota Jambi tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Kota Jambi yang berjumlah 44 orang yang terdiri dari 20 siswa laki-laki dan 24 siswa perempuan. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus, yang masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa dan angket motivasi belajar. Tindakan pengamatan dilakukan selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung, sedangkan angket motivasi belajar disebar sebanyak tiga kali yakni sebelum tindakan, setelah siklus I dan setelah siklus II. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari angket motivasi secara keseluruhan didapat motivasi siswa sebelum tindakan adalah 68,10%, sedangkan motivasi setelah siklus I adalah 72,47% dan setelah siklus II adalah 76,38%. Proses pembelajaran di kelas menunjukan perbaikan dan guru tidak lagi menjadi satu-satunya sumber dalam belajar, siswa memperhatikan saat guru menerangkan pembelajaran dan keaktifan siswa di kelas sudah mulai meningkat. Dari hasil penelitian dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT)dapat memperbaiki proses pemmbelajaran dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Kota Jambi.]]>
