Abstract

Latta Village is one of the villages besides Wayame Village which did not experience the impact of the Maluku conflict in 1999, even though the people were multi-religious (Islam and Christian). The people of Latta Village remain united and maintain the common life order between Islam and Christianity that has been fostered from the beginning. Relationships or social relations remain well intertwined with one another. Research has been conducted on the interaction between two religious communities (Islam-Christians) post-conflict in Latta Village, Ambon City. This study aims to describe the social interactions that occur in the community using a qualitative approach. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was an interaction relationship that remained intertwined in the lives of the people of Latta Village before and after the conflict. The relationship occurred because of good contact and communication between the Islamic community and the Christian community, and also because of the intervention of the Village Head, Imams, Priests and the community as a whole. Therefore, it can be concluded that the interaction relationships must remain maintained in order to create a life of a peaceful and harmonious society. Keywords: social interaction, religious community, conflict

Abstract

Abstract Religious diversity has become a necessity for the people of Indonesia, including in Maluku Province. The inter-religious social relation is created harmoniously even though in 1999 there had been a conflict in this province. However, the people of Maluku, especially in Nania village, continue to create inter-religious social relations. The relation is proven through the interaction between fellow religious people. According to Emile Durkheim, social interaction is a social fact which in essence will result a social solidarity. Solidarity emphasizes on the relations between individuals and groups and underlies the common attachment in life which is supported by moral values and beliefs in the society. The real manifestation of the relationship will produce an emotional experience, thus strengthening the relationship between them. The Durkheim's view became evident in the social life of the people in Nania Village, Ambon City. Keywords: diversity, relations, social, religion, Ambon city, Maluku.

Abstract

The development of tourist destinations with a community-based tourism approach is one form of alternative tourism that has the potential to be carried out. Tourism destination development activities carried out by the community often unknowingly have implemented a community-based tourism approach, as happened in the tourist destination of Siwang Village, Ambon City. Through a qualitative methodology, this study found that the people in Siwang Village have successfully implemented a community-based tourism approach to develop their tourism potential and attractiveness. Siwang Village is one of the mountainous tourist destinations in Ambon City, Maluku Province, which has been successfully managed independently by optimizing its potential and human resources. This research was conducted in 2021 by making the community key informants and policy makers and tourists additional informants.
