Abstract

COVID-19 caused major disruptions in daily activities for children throughout the world as schools and extracurricular activities shut down. Some reports indicated an increace in myopia among children due to the increase near work and decrease of outdoor activity during the pandemic. This literature research was aimed at evaluating evidences of near work as contributing factor to myopia, and of outdoor activity as protective factor. Based on the evaluation, the researcher suggested serveral inmportant steps to reduce the negative impact of near work for school-children.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the didactic education method by refractionist optician health workers for grade 6 students at Ciomas 01 Elementary School. The subjects of this study were 10 people, 6th-grade students, at Ciomas 01 Elementary School. The research method used was qualitative by collecting data. Through the interview process, filling out questionnaires, and observation. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the teacher's role is very dominant in the process of providing material on eye health so that students can better understand the material about eye health and the provision of material on eye health using the didactic method is considered effective to be applied to 6th-grade students at Ciomas 01 Elementary School.

Abstract

This study was aimed at describing and at assessing the implementation of hygiene and sanitation in ARO Gapopin Laboratories and Optical. The research employed qualitative method and comparative study. Data gained through observation were compared to data gained from documentary and literature study. The results indicate that the implementation of hygiene and sanitation in the laboratory and optic is good as students and lecturers always obey SOP and the wastes are managed well. Sanitation and hygiene are crucial for everyone, especially for those who work in laboratory and optical.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the incidence of cataracts and diabetes mellitus in patients at the Tanjung Harapan Health Center, Marga Tiga District, East Lampung Regency. The population in this study were outpatients for the period January - May 2021 using a case-control design with 38 subjects divided into 19 case groups (cataract patients) and 19 control groups (patients without cataracts). History of diabetes mellitus data seen from the patient's medical record and processed using the chi square test with a significance level of p <0.05. Analysis of hypothesis testing using SPSS version 21, the results of this study the asymp sig value of 0.020, which is <0.05, which means Ho is rejected, this proves that there is a significant relationship between the incidence of cataracts and Diabetes Mellitus. This data deserve to be tested with Chi Square because there is no Expected value less than 5

Abstract

This study was aimed to analyze the effect of service quality on customer satisfaction of Voorfo Optics in Nunukan, North Kalimantan. The type of research conducted is explanatory research with quantitative approach. The number of samples in this study amounted to 30 respondents with non-probability sampling techniques with a purposive sampling approach. Data collection is done by means of the dissemination of questionnaires that have been tested validity and reliability. Respondents to this study were Voorfo Optics customers domiciled in Nunukan, North Kalimantan. The study used a simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the quality of service had a significant positive effect on customer satisfaction. Conclusion of customer satisfaction will form a positive perception of Voorfo Optics and quality service can be done by improving the quality of service.

Abstract

Booming myopia is a condition where the number of people wearing glasses increases because of eye refraction disorders such as nearsightedness. The aim of this study was to analyze risk factors for booming myopia including genetic factors, close viewing activity, lighting and duration for students at MTsN 2 Jatiasih, Bekasi city. This research was conducted descriptively with the method of collecting data in a cross-sectional way using a questionnaire and visual inspection. Data were collected by conducting interviews using questionnaires and visual inspection of the study samples simultaneously during the study. The results of this study include (1) Analysis of risk factors for family history of myopia (Father and Mother/only Father/only Mother) in 52.7% which causes myopia boom in MTsN 2 Jatiasih students, Bekasi city, (2) Activity risk factor analysis close viewing (Reading and using Gadgets, Reading only and using Gadgets only) can be 98.1% which causes booming myopia in MTsN 2 Jatiasih students, Bekasi city, (3) Analysis of risk factors for lighting (Reading and using Gadgets with less lighting, Reading with poor lighting only and using gadgets with only poor lighting) can be 74.5% which causes booming myopia in MTsN 2 Jatiasih students, Bekasi city, (4) Analysis of duration risk factors (reading and using gadgets for more than 2 hours, reading more from 2 hours and using Gadgets for more than 2 hours only) in 90.9% which causes myopia boom in MTsN 2 Jatiasih students, Bekasi city.
