Abstract

This research aims to : (1) determine the increase in students? motivation to learn geography in grade XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro using a Problem Based Learning model, (2) determine the learning outcome in geography in grade XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro using a Problem Based Learning model.The research method used is Classroom Action Research. It was done in 2 cycles of 4 phases each : planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subject was SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro in the second semester of the 2013/2014 school year for the subject of geography. The total number of students was 30, which consisted of 11 female and 19 male students. The data collection techniques used in this study were : documentation, observation, interview, and tests. The data analysis technique implemented was analysis of qualitative description.The result showed that (1) the use of a Problem Based Learning model (PBL) can increase student motivation in class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro within competence 3.2. To analyze environmental conservation in relation to sustainable development. This is demonstrated by the fact that, from observation precycle to cycle I, student motivation increased by 53,34%, from 13,33% to 66,67%. Cycle I to cucle II, student motivation increased by 20%, from 66,67% to 86,67%. (2) the use of Problem Based Learning model (PBL) can increase students motivation in class XI IPS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngraho Kabupaten Bojonegoro within competence 3.2. From observation precycle to cycle I, the number of students who completed the class grew from 16 students (53,3%) to 20 students (66,7%), an increase of 13,4%. Cycle I to cycle II, the number of students who completed the class grew from 20 students (66,7%) to 25 (83,3%), an increase of 16,67%.Keyword: Problem Based Learning, Study Motivation, Learning Outcomes.
