Abstract

A research about “The Effect of Supplementation Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus L.) and BIOPLUS to the Solid Non Fat, Total Solid and Milk Acidity of Sub-clinic Mastitis’s Holstein Dairy Cows” had been done in a small farm at Nagrak Kulon Valley, Lembang-Bandung. The aim of this research is to know about the effect of supplementation Sunflower and BIOPLUS to the Solid Non Fat (SNF), Total Solid (TS) and Milk Acidity (pH) of sub-clinic Mastitis’s Holstein Dairy Cows.  This research using 16 Holstein Dairy Cows with 2-4 lactation periode and 2-4 lactation month. The method that using in this research is Random groups method with 4 treatment such as R0 (control), R1 (0.01% body weight of sunflowers), R2 (100 gram of BIOPLUS) and R3 (R1 + R2).  As the result of this research is no effect (P>0.05) of supplementation sunflowers and BIOPLUS to the Solid Non Fat, Total Solid and Milk Acidity of Sub-clinical Mastitis’s Holstein Dairy Cows. SNF is 8.50 % - 8.75 %, TS is 12.51 % - 12.65 % and pH is 6.72 – 6.85. (Animal Production 9(2): 79-81 (2007) Key Words : Sunflowers, BIOPLUS, Sub-clinical Mastitis, SNF, TS, pH

Abstract

The research  was on the effect of supplementation of natural antioxidant (Cuminum cyminum) to improve rumen ecology of Mastitis Dairy Cows and improved milk production. This research was in-vitro treatments and using rumen fluids of Holstein dairy cows with mastitis condition. They were fed diets supplemented with various levels of a natural antioxidant ( A; 0 ppm; B: 500 ppm; C: 1000 ppm and D: 1500 ppm).  Total of Rumen Bactery, pH, NH3, acetate acid, propionate acid and butirate acid were determined. The design of this experiment was used Randomized Design. The collected data were analyzed by Multiple Analysis of Variance. While the difference between the treatment effects was tested using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results showed that supplementation of   1 000 ppm of Cuminum cyminum caused increase of population bactery, Acetic acid and Propionic acid  and decrease of NH3 concentration (P<0.05). They  are not effect for milk acidity (P>0.05). Our conclusion, the level 1 000 ppm of Cuminum cyminum improve to good condition of rumen ecology. It showed to increase bactery rumen (66.02%), decrease NH3 concentration (7.58%), increase asetic acid (49.91%) and propionic acid (29.94 %).  Condition of pH rumen is showed in normal condition. Abstract

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of Curcuma Zedoaria on milk composition of sub-clinical mastitis dairy cow. Concentrate was prepared by mixing level of curcuma zedoaria powder. Nine heads of sub-clinical mastitis dairy cows were divided into three groups. The first group were as a control, the second group were treated with 0.02% of Curcuma zedoaria according to body weight , and likewise the third group were treated 0.04% of Curcuma zedoaria. Data were analyzed with Variance analysis in a completely randomized design. The result showed that there were no significant effect of using different levels of Curcuma Zeoaria. The quality of milk in term of fat, protein, dry matter were satisfied for the quality standard of milk.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of cassava leaves as feed supplement on the quality of buffalo curd in cattle traditionally reared. This study used 20 female buffaloes at second and third lactation Sijunjung district. The method was used a completely randomized design ( CRD ) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The material was used a feed supplement in the pellets form that consisted of urea (7.5 %) , saka (20 %), cassava leaf meal (10 %), bran (37.5 %), salt (8 %), cement (10 %), mineral mixture (2 %) and water (5 %). The treatment were supplementation of cassava leaves as much as A : 0 kg / head / day , B : 0.5 kg / head / day , C : 1.0 kg / head / day and D : 1.5 kg / head / day. Variables measured were moisture content, protein, and the acidity of the curd. The results showed that feeding supplements significant influence ( P < 0.01 ) on milk composition ( moisture 80.93 % , protein 7.95 %, viscosity 2.68 Cpa and acidity 1.22 %). It was concluded that the feeding supplements of 1.5 kg/head/day (Treatment D) may increase the protein, acidity , viscosity and decrease of whey .
