Abstract

Theory of emotional intelligence has been proven to contribute to the teaching and learning process, and increase students’ achievement. This research was aimed to investigate whether or not there was correlation betweem emotional intelligence and reading comprehension achievement of the eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Kota Lubuklinggau. Two hundred and ninety four students participated in this research. Emotional intelligence questionnaire and reading comprehension test were used as the instruments. Analyses by Pearson Product-Moment Correlation revealed that there was a significant correlation between emotional intelligence and reading comprehension achievement with r-obtained (.155) and p (.008). Among the four aspects of emotional intelligence, only emotional management correlated significantly with reading comprehension achievement. Furthermore, regression analyses showed that emotional management had 2.5% contribution in predicting students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

The scaffolded reading experience framework consists of a set of prereading, during-reading, and post-reading activities to use with any genre of text, including fiction and nonfiction. The aim of this study was the effectiveness of scaffolded reading experience in teaching reading comprehension to the students of Musi Rawas University? The method used in this research was quasi-experimental method. The population of this study was all of the students of Musi Rawas University. The sample of this study was students of accounting study progrom in first semester taken through convenience non random sampling. The data were collected through a written test. It was pre-test and post test. The data analyzed through t-test formula. From this study it was found that the students’ pre-test average score in the experimental group was 55 and in the control group was 53.91. Meanwhile the students’ post-test average score in the experimental group was 80 and the students’ average score in the control group was 75. In addition of t-obtained were 2.049 where the value of t-table was 1.684 at df 74 in significance level of 0.05 and with one-tailed testing. Since the value of t-obtained was higher than the critical value of the t-table (2.049>1.684), it can be concluded that, teaching reading comprehension by using scaffolded reading experience (SRE) to the students of Musi Rawas University was effective.

Abstract

Tujuan pendampingan program pangan industri rumah tangga (PIRT)di Desa Air Satan Kecamatan Muara Beliti Kabupaten Musi Rawas adalah untuk memberi informasi bagaimana pentingnya pendaftaran PIRT dalam usaha makanan. Metode dalam penyampaian program adalah ceramah, metode Tanya Jawab, diskusi dan simulasi perizinan. Hasil pendampingan dapat dilihat peserta antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan yang diberikan dan peserta juga merasa bertambah pengetahuan tentang Program Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (PIRT) di Desa Air Satan Kecamatan Muara Beliti Kabupaten Musi Rawas. Masih kurangnya kesadaran pemilik industri di Kabupaten Musi Rawas dalam pengurusan sertifikat SPP-IRT, Hal ini dapat dilihat masih adanya makanan yang beredar yang belum memiliki kode izin.

Abstract

Nowadays, the learners are interested in finding way to learn English easily. They are able to have home resources such as technological tools at home and opportunities to use it in their learning process. Google Classroom is a part of the online Google Apps for Education suite of productivity applications for teachers and students in online learning. This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of Google Classroom in enhancing students’ English. The design of this study is a quasi-experimental design (Non design) by one group pre-test and post test design. The population of this study was all of the first semester students of Universitas Musi Rawas. The sample was Karyawan Class students of the first semester of Universitas Musi Rawas. The total of students was as many as 50 students of Karyawan Class. The research sample was selected based on purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were observation and test. The result of this study shows that the significance level smaller than significance (0.05) which indicates that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that Using Google Classroom influences teaching learning process positively.

Abstract

This community service aims as literacy in the development strategy for marketing MSME products in A. Widodo Village, Tugumulyo District, Musi Rawas Regency. This activity was carried out with a lecture method with MSME actors and visual media supporting devices and ended with a question and answer session, very effective in delivering material. The enthusiasm of the participants in participating in this outreach activity became a measure of the success of the Community Service agenda. This is shown by the interaction between the presenters and the participants in the question-and-answer session

Abstract

The purpose of study was to conduct a business feasibility analysis for Perseroda Muratara Energi and Muratara Argo, north Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province. Types and sources od data related to this analysis are primary data and secondary data. Secondary data ttaken comes from thhe Regional Goverment and relevant and accountable agencies or stakeholders from laws and regulations, literature books, journals, financial data and other relevant sources. In additions to secondary data, primary data is used to verify and validate data from interviews and focus group disscussion activities so that the data obtained is more compelete and acurate. The data that has been collected isannalyzed using descriptive qualitative methods and with quantitative and qualitative approaches so that the data can be analyzed hlistically. Based on the results of an analysis of business feasibility and regional potential for the establisthment of a Regional Owned Enterprise in Musi regency, North Musi Rawas Regency in 2020, it can be concluded that from a business feasibility perspective: 1) Economic Feasibility Aspects, 2) Market and Marketing feasibility Aspects, 3) Feasibility Aspects Financial, 4) Social and Environmental Cultural Feasibility Aspects, 5) Other aspects consisting can be declaredd very feasible for the establishment of Regional owned Enterprises Perseroda Muratara energi and Muratara Agro North Musi Rawas Regency. In terms of regional potential of North musi Rawas Regency it can be concluded that: (1) Agriculture sector, forestry and fishery, and sector (2) mining and quarrying have the potential to be improved and develoved in the establishment of Regional Owned Enterprises Perseroda Muratara Energi and Muratara aggro Musi Regency north Swamp.

Abstract

An English teacher in such a location has a unique challenge in teaching the target language. This study was conducted to early childhood islamic education (PIAUD) class programat state Islamic University Raden Fatah Palembang. There is one primary question to be answered in this study, which is what strategies were used by English teachers inteaching vocabulary to early childhood islamic education (PIAUD) at State Islamic University Raden Fatah Palembang. Knowing that learning English vocabulary is important, the researchers conducted this research by observing the class times teacher. Class observations, which included the strategies used by the teacher and thelearning and teaching process used to collect the data. Besides that, The results of the study presented some variousteaching strategies which were used to teach English vocabulary. From a class observation and three main strategies wereidentified. The three primary strategies used by the English teacher in teaching English vocabulary to early childhood islamic education (PIAUD) class Programwere the use of teaching media, the implementation of appropriate methods andapproaches, and the use of fun activities to create a more engaging class. Therefore, giventhe unique condition of each school, English teachers need to be creative yet wise inchoosing the most appropriate teaching strategies to meet the needs of the learners.
