Abstract

The concept of ownership (al-milkiyah) plays a pivotal role in Islamic economic systems as an instrument of justice and social welfare. However, the rise of digitalization and the emergence of intangible assets such as personal data, digital rights, and blockchain-based assets demand a reconstruction of ownership to remain relevant in contemporary contexts. This study aims to analyze and reconstruct the concept of al-milkiyah within modern Islamic economic thought through an in-depth literature review of classical and contemporary sources. Using a qualitative method and thematic synthesis integrated with the framework of maqashid al-shariah, the study finds that ownership is not an absolute right but a trust carrying social responsibility, grounded in justice and collective benefit. The reconstruction includes the recognition of digital and intangible assets, provided they meet principles of legal certainty, utility, and protection against speculation or excessive uncertainty. The integrative-interconnective approach enables adaptive interpretation of ownership concepts while preserving core Islamic values. The novelty of this study lies in synthesizing classical and contemporary thought with an integrative approach to propose a contextual framework of al-milkiyah. These findings are expected to contribute to developing Islamic economic theory, policymaking, and the creation of halal digital products.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of technology in classical and contemporary Islamic thought and its implications for human resource management (HRM). In classical Islamic thought, principles such as justice (adl), trust (amanah), and consultation (syura) serve as ethical foundations that guide the management of society and organizations in a fair and wise manner. This thought teaches that technology should be used for the welfare of the community and should not contradict Islamic moral values. Meanwhile, contemporary Islamic thought adapts these concepts to the development of modern technology, emphasizing the importance of innovation that brings social and economic benefits, as well as prioritizing justice and transparency in its implementation. In the context of HR management, the integration of classical and contemporary Islamic thought allows for the use of technology to enhance efficiency, accountability, and employee empowerment without compromising ethical principles. The use of tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) for recruitment and performance evaluation, as well as cloud-based management platforms, can help create a management system that is more transparent, efficient, and equitable. This article also discusses the challenges in implementing technology that aligns with Islamic values, such as personal data protection and reducing bias in technology-based systems. In conclusion, the integration of classical and contemporary Islamic thought in technology-based human resource management not only promotes organizational efficiency but also ensures that technology is used for the benefit of the community, in accordance with the principles of justice, trust, and consultation in Islam.

Abstract

This research presents an analysis of the economic and environmental benefits resulting from the adoption of green business practices in the hospitality and tourism sector. The study explores the growing significance of sustainability in this industry and investigates the specific findings and advantages associated with embracing environmentally friendly practices. By conducting a comprehensive review of pertinent literature, incorporating case studies, and examining empirical evidence, this article provides valuable insights into the potential economic and environmental benefits of green practices in the hospitality and tourism sector. The analysis reveals that green business practices in the hospitality and tourism sector can lead to substantial cost savings and improved operational efficiency. Implementation of energy and resource management strategies, such as energy-efficient lighting, water conservation measures, waste reduction, and sustainable procurement, can result in reduced operational costs and enhanced overall efficiency. Furthermore, the study finds that adopting green practices can generate new revenue streams and differentiate businesses in the market. Effective eco-friendly branding and marketing strategies attract environmentally conscious consumers, leading to increased customer loyalty and potential revenue growth. The analysis also uncovers the positive environmental impacts of green practices, including reduced carbon emissions, waste generation, and resource consumption. Measures like renewable energy adoption, waste recycling, and water conservation contribute to a reduced carbon footprint, conservation of natural resources, and preservation of local ecosystems and biodiversity. Governmental support and incentives are identified as crucial drivers in the adoption of green business practices in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Abstract

This community service aims to analyze and optimize the marketing strategy of the Multi-Purpose Financing (PMG) product to increase the number of customers at Bank Sumut Syariah Capem Panyabungan. The main problem identified is the low level of public understanding of Islamic financing products and limited promotional activities, which affect customer growth. The method used is a qualitative approach with a participatory assistance model through observation, problem identification, counseling, and discussions with bank staff. The results show that implementing marketing strategies through the marketing mix (product, price, place, and promotion) and community socialization activities can increase public understanding and interest in PMG products. In conclusion, well-planned marketing strategies based on public education can increase the number of customers and strengthen public trust in Islamic banking services.

Abstract

This paper examines the adoption of Digital Murabahah in Mandailing Natal within the broader context of digital transformation in Islamic banking, emphasizing its potential to enhance financial accessibility while maintaining Sharia compliance. Although digital initiatives have rapidly advanced in major Islamic financial institutions, limited attention has been given to their development in regional and rural contexts, creating a significant research gap in understanding localized implementation challenges. Addressing this gap, the study investigates the key barriers and strategic solutions for developing Sharia-compliant digital financing at the regional level. This study contributes novelty by focusing on regional Islamic banking dynamics, an area often overlooked in existing research dominated by large-scale banking contexts. Using a qualitative approach, this research draws on secondary data from Islamic banking reports, regulatory documents, and recent academic studies, supported by comparative case analyses of Islamic banks implementing Digital Murabahah. The findings reveal that limited digital infrastructure, low customer literacy, and complex regulatory frameworks impede adoption, with larger Islamic banks advancing faster than regional ones. The study contributes to existing literature by providing a region-specific analysis of digital Islamic finance transformation and proposing a strategic framework that integrates fintech collaboration, customer education, and adaptive regulatory support. It concludes that a gradual transition through hybrid banking models—aligned with technological readiness and regulatory reform—is crucial for strengthening financial inclusion and ensuring the sustainable growth of Islamic banking in regional economies.
