Abstract

Denial of Service (DoS) is a serious cyber threat and has a destructive impact because it makes target unavailable by flooding large amounts of traffic. The router as a gateway plays a vital role in the network, if its function is disrupted it will have a direct impact on the overall network performance. This study aims to analyze of securing network from DoS using a mikrotik router by utilizing the built-in security features and assessing the level of effectiveness. By using the PPDIOO methodology, there are six router conditions tested against DoS with five indicators being measured. The results obtained are that the security with firewall raw in condition 6 is the most effective and efficient compared to other conditions. CPU consumption has been reduced by 20% and the ping response time has returned to normal, and the detection and blocking process has been automated. However, all security with built-in security features is considered ineffective in dealing with DoS, because it is proven that CPU consumption is still high, DoS traffic cannot be eliminated, only latency can be normalized.

Abstract

Melalui Perpres Nomor 39 tahun 2019 tentang Satu Data Indonesia, Lembaga Penerbangan dan Antariksa Nasional (LAPAN) berkomitmen untuk membangun program Satu Data di lingkungan LAPAN, program tersebut dinamakan One Space. Teknologi container platform hadir di LAPAN sebagai pembaruan bagi teknologi sebelumnya (monolithic) dan menjadi salah satu solusi untuk mendukung komitmen pembangunan One Space. Salah satu instrumen didalam teknologi container platform adalah container orchestration, dimana perannya adalah melakukan proses otomasi dan pengelolaan container. Container orchestration dirancang untuk memberikan kelebihan dalam proses deployment terhadap suatu sistem informasi terdistribusi, sehingga menjadi lebih cepat, efisien dan tangkas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tindakan pengamanan yang perlu dilakukan pada container orchestration berbasis Kubernetes. Data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui metode studi literatur, observasi, dan wawancara. Dari hasil pengumpulan data, diperoleh 18 tindakan pengamanan untuk berikutnya akan dinilaikan. Tahap akhir dilakukan proses prioritasi dengan metode MoSCoW melalui sebuah forum group discussion (FGD) bersama dengan para pakar IT dan praktisi IT di lingkungan LAPAN untuk mengetahui tingkat rekomendasi pada masing-masing tindakan pengamanan yang dapat diterapkan di lingkungan LAPAN dengan memperhastikan beberapa parameter. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh 7 tindakan pengamanan dengan tingkat must have, 10 tindakan pengamanan dengan tingkat should have, dan 1 tindakan pengamanan dengan tingkat could have.

Abstract

The role of interoperability architecture is one of the solutions to data redundancy problems and data differences that cause the level of data accuracy to be low. However, the performance of the interoperability architecture needs to be evaluated as an effort to improve the quality of the application itself. This study aims to evaluate the interoperability architecture between architectures using the Government Service Bus (GSB) and Peer to Peer (P2P), through several tests, namely load testing and stress testing. Load testing and stress testing aim to measure the speed and resilience of an application by sending requests and measuring the response of the application. The difference is that in load testing, testing is carried out with certain load conditions, while in stress testing, testing is carried out under extreme conditions. Testing load testing, determining the load condition with a multiple of the number of users 100 to 500, with the JMeter tools. In stress testing, testing is carried out with a total of 1000 users, with the Loader.io tools. The results of the load testing show that the average access time for GSB is smaller than P2P, with an average of 2ms to 309ms and a request error rate of 0%. The results of stress testing show that the GSB architecture is faster than the P2P architecture with an average difference in access time of 2957ms, a difference in throughput of 1.5 request/second, but GSB has a higher request error rate than P2P with a difference of 16.05%. In general conditions with certain loads, the GSB architecture has superior performance, this can be seen from the access time and request errors. Meanwhile, in extreme conditions the GSB architecture experiences a decline in performance, this can be seen from a larger request error rate when handling very large requests.
