Abstract

In today's digital era, students need digital literacy skills to critically navigate, evaluate, and analyze a large amount of online information. Digital literacy uses digital technology to obtain, evaluate, create, and communicate information in various contexts. This research aimed to investigate the impact of CDA in improving students' digital literacy, explore the role of CDA in enhancing students' digital literacy, and identify the lecturer's strategy in using CDA for enhancing students' digital literacy. This current study used classroom action research as a research design which consisted of two cycles. The participants in this research were college students at STIE Gentiaras Lampung. The instruments of this research consisted of tests and non-test. Quantitative data was taken from students' digital literacy tests, and qualitative data were taken from observation and interviews. The findings show that CDA can improve students' digital literacy. Moreover, there were five roles of CDA in enhancing students' digital literacy: fostering critical thinking, promoting media literacy, enhancing textual analysis, encouraging social awareness, and cultivating responsible digital citizenship. The last finding is the teacher employed three strategies to improve students' digital literacy: acquainting them with the fundamental principles of CDA, selecting diverse texts for comprehensive CDA analysis, and encouraging classroom discussions. According to the findings, policymakers can consider integrating CDA into educational curricula to enhance students' digital literacy skills.

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the need for implementing Critical Discourse Analysis to improve students' digital literacy skills. The research focuses on analyzing the problems and needs of students majoring in Management at STIE Gentiaras Lampung regarding the need to apply Critical Discourse Analysis to improve students' digital literacy skills. Qualitative descriptive is a type of research used by researchers. Meanwhile, STIE Gentiaras Lampung students were the subjects used in this study. There are literature studies, observations, interviews, and tests as data collection methods in the study. There are four analyses of problems experienced by students in order to develop students' digital literacy skills. The four problems are 1) Low Digital Literacy Skills of Students, 2) Mismatch of Teaching Methods in The Classroom, 3) Lack of Integration in the Curriculum, and 4) Lack of Access and Infrastructure. Needs analysis is also carried out by researchers, in addition to applying problem analysis. STIE Gentiaras Lampung students have three needs. First, students need CDA as a learning method to develop their digital literacy skills. Second, students need CDA integration with the latest curriculum. Third, students need adequate access and infrastructure to develop digital literacy skills. Therefore, researchers will continue this research by using CDA as a learning method to develop students' digital literacy skills. Keywords : CDA, digital literacy, need analysis

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi telah mengubah berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan. Literasi digital menjadi salah satu keterampilan penting yang harus dimiliki oleh guru, terutama di tingkat sekolah dasar, untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan interaktif. Artikel ini membahas kegiatan sosialisasi literasi digital sebagai upaya meningkatkan kompetensi guru Sekolah Dasar di SDS Sejahtera III Sindang Sari, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan terkait penggunaan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran, seperti Google Classroom, Zoom, serta pembuatan konten digital interaktif. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini terdiri dari pelatihan dan pendampingan intensif kepada para guru dalam memanfaatkan platform digital untuk mengelola materi, memberikan tugas, dan melakukan evaluasi secara online. Selain itu, sosialisasi mengenai pentingnya keamanan digital dan etika dalam penggunaan teknologi juga diberikan. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi, diskusi, serta umpan balik dari guru dan siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan digital para guru. Sekitar 80% peserta mampu mengoperasikan platform digital dan menciptakan konten interaktif. Namun, beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan akses internet dan perlunya pelatihan lanjutan masih menjadi tantangan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil mendukung transformasi pendidikan yang lebih modern dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi. Dengan demikian, diharapkan literasi digital dapat terus dikembangkan guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.
