Abstract

To investigate the diversity of gastropods and bivalves in the mangrove forest area Apit Siak River District in April to December2014.The results are used for the development of instructional mediain the form of media objects directly in the form of wet preservation of the species are found. This research was carried out with 2 phases: phase field research and media development. Determination of the research station by purposive sampling to establish three research stations. Each station consists of two transects and one achtransect consists of 3 plots. Biological parameters observed that diversity index and the physical and chemical parameters include salinity, pH, temperature, organic content of the substrate and the texture class. The results showed that the diversity of gastropods in the mangrove forest area Apit Siak River District ranged from 1.73 to 1.85 which is relatively moderate range. The results of the research can be used as a medium of learning in the from of media preservation of biodiversity o the material wet grade ten high school. Keywords : diversity Gastropoda, bivalves, mangrove, media learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the composition and diversity of soil insect in Riau University Arboretum, and obtains an alternative learning source. The method of this research is survey. Locations were selected based on purposive random sampling considering 3 habitat types. The parameters used in this study is the composition and diversity of soil insect. Physical and chemical parameters measured were soil temperature, pH, water content and organic matter content. The data obtained are presented in tables and graphs then analyzed descriptively to be associated with the learning set of material. Based on the research that has been conducted, there are differences in the composition of soil insects at each research station. Of the three stations, there were obtained 5 orders and 12 species. Order were found which is consist of Hymenoptera, Collembola, Orthoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera. At the first station, found as many as 494 individual. At the second station, there was found as many as 217 insects and found 271 insects in stations III. The diversity of soil insect is classified as moderate with scale 1-3. The results can be used to develop inquiry-based learning animal diversity in the form of Student Work Sheet. Keywords : Composition, Diversity, Learning Inquiry, Soil Insect

Abstract

Research has been conducted in order to determine the growth of the earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) with artificial food and utilization of research results to support the learning process on the concept of growth and development of invertebrates. This research was conducted at the Natural Laboratory of Education and Teacher Training University of Riau in April to June 2013. This study used a completely randomized design with 9 treatments and 3 replications. The material used is the earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) as much as 270 worm with averaged biomass and body length. Organic materials as artificial feed (P1) tofu, (P2) kakawatan grass, (P3) chicken manure, (P4) cow manure, (P5) tofu + chicken manure, (P6) + kakawatan grass + tofu, (P7) chicken manure and kakawatangrass (P8) + cow manure + tofu. Parameters measured were the length and biomass of earthworm for 60 days after planting (at the beginning and end of the research). Proponent parameters measured were pH of soil, temperature of soil and moisture. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at the level of 5 %. The results showed increase length and biomass of earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) is highest at (P4)treatment (cow manure) which is 0.214 g/tail, long worms present in the (P2) treatment (kakawatan grass) which is 4.99 cm and the lowest on all parameters is the (P0) treatment (no treatment). The results of the research can be used to support the learning process in the form of Student Worksheet (LKS).Keywords : Lumbricus rubellus, Growth, Artificial Feeding, LKS

Abstract

This study aims to determine the insect pollinators species in horticulture cropsflowers at Penyasawan Village Kampar Regency and for designing learning media arethe relevant to the Interaction Patterns of Living Things concept. This research is adescriptive study was conducted from June to November 2013. The method in thisstudy used a survey method. Determining of the research location by purposivesampling, based on the types of gardens in the Penyasawan Village Kampar Regency. That are cucumber (Cucumis sativus), luffa (Luffa acutangula), peppers (Capsicumannuum), and eggplant (Solanum melongena). Biological parameters measured is theinsect pollinators species, and physical parameters measured are temperature, humidity and light intensity. Based on the results of this study, founded 12 species ofinsects pollinators include Xylocopa confusa, Xylocopa latipes, Amegilla.sp, Apiscerana, Trigona.sp, Ropalidia fasciata, Nomia punctata, Hylaeus.sp, Meghachile.sp,Syrphus.sp, Hypolimna Bolina, and Appias libythea. The results of the study in theform of videos and photo of specimens will be used as a learning source of biologysuch as learning media (interactive multimedia) to supported the Interaction Patternsof Living Beings concept on material living interactions in the junior high schoolclass VII.Keywords: Insect pollinator , horticulture crops, multimedia biology learning
