Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM), Halal Awareness, Muslim Influencers, and Halal Lifestyle on Purchase Decisions of Local Muslim Fashion on the TikTok App among Generation Z. A quantitative approach was used, collecting data through questionnaires from 150 Generation Z respondents who actively transact on TikTok Shop. The results of the regression analysis showed that E-WOM, Muslim influencers, and halal lifestyle have a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions, while halal awareness has a negative but insignificant influence. These findings indicate that digital recommendations, social influence from influencers, and halal lifestyle play a significant role in shaping Generation Z's purchase decisions. In contrast, halal awareness is not traditionally a major factor in their decisions, reflecting the changing preferences of young consumers who prioritize social aspects and lifestyle trends. The practical implications of this study emphasize the importance of a digital marketing strategy that combines the power of E-WOM and Muslim influencers with contextual and engaging halal value adjustments on the TikTok platform.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Indonesia's culinary industry has intensified competition among spicy noodle brands, with halal certification, product quality, taste satisfaction, and location emerging as factors that may shape consumer loyalty among student consumers. This study examines the influence of these four factors on consumer loyalty to Mie Gacoan among students in Sidoarjo. A quantitative approach was used, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 students who had purchased Mie Gacoan products, selected via purposive sampling, and analysed using validity, reliability, t-tests, and F-tests with SPSS version 27. The results show that taste satisfaction and location have a positive and significant influence on consumer loyalty, while halal certification has a significant but negative influence, and product quality has a negative and non-significant influence. All four variables together significantly affect consumer loyalty, explaining 55.3% of its variance. These findings suggest that loyalty among student consumers is shaped primarily by taste satisfaction and accessibility of location, with the role of halal certification requiring further investigation given its unexpected direction. Mie Gacoan is encouraged to maintain taste consistency and location accessibility while reassessing how halal certification is communicated to consumers.

Abstract

Teenagers prefer the current trend of Korean style, so many Indonesian companies are rushing to create products that meet the community's needs and compete with foreign companies. In addition, companies are more focused on their preferences, forgetting the fact that Indonesians also need halal product labels. However, the lack of halal awareness (consumer knowledge about halal products) makes Indonesians forget the importance of halal-labeled products. This study aims to investigate the impact of halal labels, income, product ingredients, and lifestyle on the purchasing interest of Gen Z consumers in imported Korean cosmetics. This study uses a quantitative research method. This study demonstrates validity in several tests. It also provides additional information, references, and insights for readers regarding the influence of halal labels, product ingredients, and lifestyle on the interest of Gen Z consumers in purchasing imported Korean cosmetics. It can also help companies understand the extent to which halal labels influence consumers, including their product preferences and lifestyle, as well as their interest in purchasing cosmetics imported from Korea.
