The low understanding and analysis of data and the use of statistical methods make survey results with quantitative data cannot be completed correctly. To be able to conduct surveys correctly, surveyors are also required to understand sampling techniques and statistical analysis in accordance with statistical rules. Community service in the form of training on Sampling and Survey Techniques can provide the benefits of understanding statistics and skills in using statistical methods and software to support quantitative surveys, especially in the field of animal husbandry. In addition, community service in the form of training can also provide significant benefits for employees of PT Mustika Jaya Semarang in conducting surveys of farmers and analyzing the resulting survey results.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition characterized by impaired growth and development in children, caused by various factors such as poor nutrition, infections, and a lack of psychosocial stimulation. Indonesia is one of the Asian countries with a high prevalence of stunting. The increasing stunting rates have raised concerns about the nation's future generation. The aim of this study is to identify the factors contributing to stunting cases, particularly in Karangtengah Village, Sumberjo Village, Kumpulrejo Village, Kutoharjo Village, Krajankulon Village, and Sarirejo Village in Kaliwungu Subdistrict, Kendal Regency, using a logistic regression approach. The variables in this study include stunting status as the dependent variable, while the independent variables are gender, low birth weight (LBW), child disease history, marital status, maternal education, maternal height, pregnancy status, ANC history, maternal phone usage duration, maternal anemia history, child intake and nutrition, and hygiene and environmental conditions. Based on the analysis results, it was found that only the duration of maternal phone usage significantly influenced the occurrence of stunting in children, with a tendency value of 0.071.

Abstract

North Sulawesi Province has high economic and tourism potential due to its rich agricultural and mining resources and natural beauty, attracting investors and tourists. However, the high crime rate in North Sulawesi Province raises concerns about economic sustainability and social stability. Investors will tend to choose safe and stable places to invest, while tourists will also choose safe places to vacation. This study aims to analyze the variables that influence crime rates in North Sulawesi Province. Previous studies have shown that crime rates are influenced by several factors, including education, unemployment, poverty, and inequality. These variables will be analyzed using panel data regression. Panel data regression is used because crime rates vary across regions and over time. Thus, panel data can reveal the effects of inter-regional and inter-temporal factors. The study covers 11 districts and 4 cities in North Sulawesi Province, spanning the period from 2021 to 2023. The results of the panel data regression indicate that the most appropriate model is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Based on the results of the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), it is found that poverty and inequality significantly influence crime, while education and unemployment do not significantly influence crime. The Adjusted R Square value is 0.8132, meaning that 81.32% of crime in the North Sulawesi region can be explained by education, unemployment, poverty, and inequality, while 18.68% is explained by other factors.
