Abstract

Measles is still a disease that has the highest case in the city of Yogyakarta. 41 positive case of measles in 2015, while in 2016 the number increased to 144 cases. In 2016 from 14 sub-districts, the highest incidence was in the work area of Puskesmas Umbulharjo I with 24 cases of positive measles increased compared to the previous year as many as 5 cases. However, the coverage of measles immunization has been more than 98% by 2015, which already exceeds the national target of 90%. The research aims to determine the description of parents knowledge about measles immunization in the area of Umbulharjo Puskesmas 1. The research design was quantitative descriptive with survey method in work area of Umbulharjo 1 Public Health Center in 2017. The sample technique used was simple random sampling, with total sample of 68 respondents. The research used of questionnaires as a data collection tool. Variable used was single variable that was parents knowledge about immunization of measles. The research results show the characteristics of respondents were most common at the age of 24-29 years (45.31%), senior high school education (60.94%), mostly unemployed (32.81%), and 53.13% had never received information related measles immunization. Respondents who have received information related to measles immunization mostly (76.67%) obtained from counseling. The result of description parents knowledge about measles immunization in working area of Puskesmas Umbulharjo I is 20,31% had good knowledge, 43,75% had enough knowledge, and 35,94% had less knowledge. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the obtained a description of parents' knowledge about measles immunization in the area of Puskesmas Umbulharjo I with sufficient category.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus in Bantul occupies the second position after hypertension with 10.32% prevalence among non-contagious diseases. Social support is important for diabetes mellitus patients because it influences their behavior towards reaching the desirable health status. The data obtained from 30 patients show that 15 patients received social support because no family members were there to accompany them, 5 patients suffered an emotional distress because they were anxious about their disease, and 10 patients did not have either social support problems or emotional distress. Objectives: To determine the correlation between social support and emotional distress on diabetes mellitus patients at Panembahan Senopati Hospital Bantul. Research Method: This is a correlational non experimental research which uses a cross-sectional design. The sample collection used a purposive sampling technique. The analyses technique using Kendall’s tau Results: The descriptive analysis shows that 3 respondents received low social support (10.7%), 15 respondents received medium social support (53.6%), and 10 respondents received high social support (35.7%), 8 respondents experienced low emotional distress (28.6%), and 20 respondents experienced medium emotional distress (71.4%). Conclusion: The results of Kendall’s tau correlation coefficient test show that there is a significant correlation between social support and emotional distress on diabetes mellitus patients with a p value = 0.000 and a correlation coefficient = 0.788.

Abstract

In the world, the number of people with diabetes is estimated to 171 million people and is predicted to reach 366 million in 2025. The increase in DM patients, the diabetic ulcer complications have also increased, which is about 15% suffer from ulcers in the legs, and 12-14% including foot ulcers require amputation. The results of field studies showed that treatment of diabetic ulcers in hospitals prior to this innovation is to drape the foot side of the bed; stuck in bed with the coated; placed on crooked, and there are propped up with plastic basin. This causes the treatment time becomes longer, discomfort, fatigue and difficult during treatment of diabetic ulcers. Objective: Creating a tool that can be used for treatment of diabetic ulcers more effectively and efficiently, that is SIFOEDT (Simple Foot Elevator for Diabetic Ulcer Treatment). Methods: Quasi-experimental, with pre and post test without control group design, with a sample size of 30 respondents consisting of 15 respondents at Sleman District Hospital and 15 respondents at Panembahan Senopati Hospital, Bantul. Sampling Technique used consecutive sampling. Results: Mean of ulcer treatment before using Sifoedt was 18.09 minutes, and after using Sifoedt was 12.62 minutes. Before using Sifoedt, majority (80%) said less comfortable, while after using Sifoedt majority (90%) said comfortable. The level of fatigue patients before using Sifoedt showed majority (86.7 %%) said fatigue, while after using Sifoedt majority (93.3%) said no fatigue. Conclusions: There are significant differences of diabetic ulcer treatment time before and after using Sifoedt (p = 0.000). There are significant differences in comfort of patients before and after using Sifoedt (p = 0.000). And there are significant differences in fatigue before and after using Sifoedt (p = 0.000).
