Abstract

Research on demersal fish resources using research vessel Bawal Putih was carried out during the West monsoon (December, 2005) in the northern waters of Central Java. Sampling was done by trawl net with swept - area method and was pulled by speed of 3 knots. The maximum time of towing trawl at every station was 1 hour. The stations were 30 in number with 20 - 50 m in depth. The catch rate distribution of demersal fish between 2.16 - 234.08 kg/hour and the average was 61.6 kg/hour. The fish composition consists of 37 families and 79 species. The dominant families were Leiognathidae (38.9 %), Synodontidae (10.75%), Nemipteridae (10.65%) and Mullidae (8.76%). While the dominant species were Leiognathus splendens (25.3%), Upeneus sulphureus (8.4%), Leiognathus decorus (7.07%), Nemipterus japonicus (6.7%) and Saurida longimanus (4.2%).

Abstract

Informasi keanekaragaman hayati ikan memiliki peranan penting dalam manjaga ekosistem perairan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menginvetaris jenis-jenis ikan demersal dan pembaruan nilai Indek keragaman hayati spesies ikan demersal. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan suatu informasi dalam pengelolaan sumber daya ikan di Laut Natuna Selatan. Penelitian ini lakukan pada bulan November 2017 menggunakan KR. Baruna Jaya IV (1200 GT). Pengambilan data menggunakan metode sapuan dengan alat tangkap pukat ikan. Nilai Indek keanekaragaman (‘H) antara 1,54 – 3,45 dengan tertinggi pada wilayah bagian tengah, sedangkan terendah pada wilayah bagian timur. Indek kekayaan jenis (‘R) diperoleh antara 8,15 – 19,67 dengan tertinggi di wilayah perairan bagian tengah sebesar 19,67 dan terendah pada bagian barat Laut Natuna Selatan 8,15. Indek dominansi (‘C) tertinggi berada pada perairan bagian timur dengan7,08 dan terendah pada perairan bagian tengah dengan 0,06. Indek kemerataan (‘E) tertinggi pada wilayah perairan bagian tengah dengan 0,36 dan terendah pada wilayah perairan bagian timur sebesar 0,15Information on the biodiversity of the fish plays an essential role when it comes to support and manage ecosystem health. This research aims to list the demersal species and update its biodiversity index, as well as its distribution. The results could provide the baseline information on the richness and evenness of the demersal species in South Natuna waters for the management purposes. The swept area method was used by using the trawler net of R.V. Baruna Jaya IV when conducting the swept area surveys in November 2017. The diversity index value ('H) is between 1.54 - 3.45 with the highest in the central region, while the lowest in the eastern region. The species richness index ('R) was obtained between 8.15-19.67 with the highest in the central waters area of 19.67 and the lowest in the western part of the South Natuna Sea 8.15. The highest dominance index ('C) is in the eastern waters with 7.08 and the lowest is in the middle waters with 0.06. The highest evenness index ('E) is in the central waters with 0.36 and the lowest is in the eastern waters at 0.15
