Abstract

The idea of a multicultural society first appeared in the West and has become official public policy, it also represents the efforts of liberal democrats to promote ethnic / racial equality. The basic premise of multiculturalism is how to show tolerance for the diversity of cultural practices in the context of the nation state. In its application, especially from a media point of view, global (capitalist) ownership implicitly utilizes the media to market liberal culture and education globally, as well as to make society a strategic object to reap various benefits. This becomes very interesting to discuss as an extraordinary scientific discourse, deepening the study of multiculturalism and its role in changing the life of Indonesian people, especially the Indonesian Islamic community in their relationship when adapting to various cultures, ethnicities, beliefs, and even values developed by global rulers, ownership capitalist.
