Abstract

Construction of substantial components in a building, both static and dynamic, is the construction that is supported by connection elements. The connection element serves to connect one structure to another. Welding is a metal joining method that takes advantage of the penetration of heat or heat produced. The problem of selecting the type of current (Amper) also determines the amount of heat input required in metal melting. This study aims to present the trend of the hardness of the joints (weld metal and parent metal) to changes in current strength, which in this case is represented by the hardness factor caused by welding temperature. The method used is the experimental method, which is supported by the SMAW welding method and hardness testing on HAZ and weld metal using the Rockwell HRD-150 type hardness tester. The results showed that the average hardness value of ST 37 steel raw material obtained from the test results was 48.6 HRB. The hardness value of the weld metal for the welding process 70 Ampere, 90 Ampere, and 110 Ampere is lower than the hardness value of the raw material. Based on these conditions, there was an increase in the HAZ hardness value in all specimens for the 110 Ampere welding process with a hardness value of 50.2 HRB or 1.9% compared to the raw material hardness value.

Abstract

Mesin pencacah pelepah kelapa sawit adalah mesin yang digunakan untuk mempermudah saat pengolahan. Prinsip kerja mesin ini merupakan metode gaya gesek, dimana motor listrik meneruskan putaran pada poros, pulley, v-belt dan bearing. Pada poros didalam cover  berisi mata pisau,. hasil spesifikasi alat yang telah dirancang menggunakan AutoCAD 2007 adalah sebagai berikut: Dimensi rangka 900 mm × 820 mm × 500 mm, diameter cover atas Ø430 mm × 360 mm, dimensi cover bawah 730 mm × 360 mm × 390 mm × 45°, panjang mata pisau 250 mm × 100 mm × 8 mm. Menggunakan motor bensin 5 HP, menggunakan sistem transmisi tunggal dengan 2 buah pulley 1:2, 2 buah v-belt berdampingan, satu buah poros dan dua buah bearing duduk

Abstract

Because many mechanics in general repair shops still press brake pistons using a ring spanner, which often causes the brake pistons to be scratched or broken, the purpose of this study is to assist mechanics in the brake pad installation process to avoid piston damage and to understand how the brake piston presser works.The methods used include literature review, field observation, design using AutoCAD software, and the manufacturing process, which consists of four main stages: material preparation (iron plate, bolts, nuts). After the tool is completed, testing is conducted to ensure its function and efficiency. The average time for the brake piston presser tool is 06.47 seconds, while the average time when using a ring spanner is 07.72 seconds. The test results can be seen from the efficiency of the brake piston presser tool made by the author
