Abstract

Pada bagian abtrak dijelaskan bahwa artikel ini membahas mengenai sensor dan tantangan perpustakaan dalam penyebarluasan informasi pada Perpustakaan di Negeria. Pustakawan melalui asosiasi profesional telah lama berkomitmen untuk Prinsip keadilan sosial yang menjamin akses gratis ke informasi. Sensor menjadi tantangan eksternal secara jelas bagi perpustakaan, menimbulkan kekhawatiran dari dalam diri pustakawan dan secara tidak sadar terjadi di Perpustakaan. Pustakawan memberikan layanan secara inklusi tanpa  mendiskriminasi pengguna perpustakaan dan tanpa memandang jenis kelamin, kelompok etnis, kebangsaan, kondisi sosial, agama atau opini politik. Dalm hal ini menyimpulkan bagi pustakawan untuk memberikan tingkat pelayanan tertinggi melalui sopan, cepat, memadai, terampil, akurat dan cepat dalam menanggapi permintaan pengguna.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the availability of a collection of compulsory subject teaching materials in the Library Science study program at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This quantitative research uses the checklist method. The research data was obtained from the RPKS/Syllabus reading list for compulsory subjects and interviews. The results of this study include an explanation of the collection based on the type of subject of the collection, the language of the collection, and the percentage of the availability of the collection to the needs of Lecturers at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities UIN Imam Bonjol. The results of this study indicate that the types of collections used in the 2018/2021 Academic Year are 75% of English Language Textbooks and Special Guidelines related to Library Science, especially in Processing Collections both Internationally and from the National Library. Data analysis shows that the number of reading lists of 20 compulsory subjects in the study program is 172 titles, with an average of 1-2 copies originating from purchases and gifts if more than 10 copies. Document data analysis resulted in the number of available reading lists in 20 courses, with the number of available collections being 37.2% and not available as much as 62.7%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the role of school libraries in improving information literacy and reading culture of adolescents in high schools by choosing SMA N 16 Padang as the object of research and grade 3 as the research sample. The research method is descriptive quantitative by using questionnaires as a data collection tool using random sampling techniques. The results of the study were interpreted using simple percentages and arranged in a graph, with the results that students did not have good reading habits. Data shows that 45% of students spend only 30 minutes- 1 hour per day reading, focusing only on reading textbooks and school notes while doing homework and reading only for exams. The results also show that 60% of students very rarely borrow books in the library, and the library collection has not been integrated with the school curriculum beyond the thematic compulsory books available.
