Youth as leadership successors in the future need to be mentored properly by the pastors. Successful mentoring will produce future leaders who are trained and ready to serve in various church ministries in the future. The purpose of this research is to provide an understanding for pastors on how to mentor youth, teach and motivate youth to serve, thus encouraging pastors to be more effective in carrying out their pastoral duties, bringing youth to understand God's calling for all believers. This research used a correlational method. Based on the data analysis conducted, it is concluded that the mentoring carried out by the pastor has a strong relationship with the involvement of youth in the ministry, because with mentoring that is done well by the pastor, it will have an impact on the progress of the ministry and the increase in youth who are involved in the ministry.

Abstract

An evangelistic mission can be successful if it is carried out contextually. One of the mission agencies that has successfully carried out contextual evangelism is the Crossline Family, which carries out a mission to punk children. This study explores the evangelism method used by Crossline Family to punk children. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Informants are leaders and members of the Crossline Family. The writer collected data through interview techniques and analysis of the Crossline Family service journey history, which is documented via video. The study found that Crossline Family uses three methods in evangelizing punk children: 1) relate without judgment, 2) be proactive in being in the midst of their lives and be role models, and 3) convey God's Word through the genre of punk children's songs.

Abstract

The post-digital era has given rise to the phenomenon of phubbing, with a prevalence of 49.3% among young people, creating a crisis of relational spirituality within Christian communities. This research aims to analyze phubbing as a manifestation of digital alienation from a Christian communication theology perspective and construct relational spirituality as its theological antithesis. Through literature study methods with an integrative theological reflection approach, this research explores the phenomenology of phubbing, the framework of relational spirituality, the construction of resistant communities, and the transformation of ministry. Findings indicate that phubbing represents a fundamental crisis in understanding the relational imago Dei, threatening fellowship that reflects Trinitarian love. Relational spirituality offers a comprehensive theological paradigm that integrates the wisdom of Christian tradition with contemporary digital realities. Practical implications include developing theological praxis for forming communities resistant to digital alienation and reconceptualizing pastoral ministry for the post-digital era, as well as creating compelling counter-narratives to digital culture's assumptions about connectivity as a substitute for authentic human development.

Abstract

This article delves into the profound significance of the Jesus Prayer, as presented by Kallistos Ware, and its role in nurturing spiritual growth and leading believers toward a deeper union with God. By employing a qualitative literature review, this study engages with Ware’s theological perspectives and other relevant insights. The findings highlight how this simple yet powerful prayer—“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner”—serves as a tool for believers to transcend distractions, cultivate inner peace, and center their hearts on Christ. The research affirms that the Jesus Prayer is not just a repetitive phrase but a pathway to transformation, offering believers a way to experience God’s grace in their everyday lives.
