Abstract

Abstract: The prevalence of rupture and episiotomy in Indonesia is still high, reaching 33% of total deliveries. PerinealABSTRACT The prevalence of rupture and episiotomy in Indonesia is still high, reaching 33% of total deliveries. Perineal rupture and episiotomy wounds due to the delivery process can cause bleeding and pain in the perineum. One of the recommended actions to prevent perineal rupture is perineal massage performed at 35-36 weeks of gestation. Perineal massage aims to increase the elasticity of the perineum. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out promotional activities for perineal massage with the aim of increasing the knowledge and skills of mothers in performing perineal massage during pregnancy so as to prevent perineal rupture during labour. Perineum massage promotion activities were carried out for 2 days on 14-15 November 2022 at the Tuminting Health Center in Manado City. The target of the activity is 20 third trimester pregnant women who make antenatal care visits. The stages of this activity include coordinating with partners to prepare materials and compiling perineal massage pocket books and preparing supporting facilities, and implementing health education and demonstrations followed by distributing pocket books containing perineal massage techniques and conducting post tests. The results of the mean value measurement show an increase in the mean (mean) pretest and posttest, namely from: 2.8 to 9.8 so it can be concluded that promotion of perineal massage can increase the knowledge of primiparous pregnant women in the final trimester. Therefore, health workers can include information about perineal massage as one of the educational materials for third trimester pregnant women.

Abstract

Cervical cancer accounts for 8.8% of cancer deaths in Indonesia, making it the second leading cause of cancer deaths. The World Health Organization has recommended the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination as a preventive measure against cervical cancer. This review aims to provide an evidence-based summary of the effectiveness of HPV vaccination. Literature study on English-language articles collected from the online database PubMed, Google Scholars, and DOAJ with search keywords "Human Papillomavirus Vaccine" and "Cervical Cancer." The results of the selected articles obtained were five articles published in the last five years. The main findings from all studies consistently report that the incidence of pre-cancer and cervical cancer cases is lower in the female population who received the vaccination than in the female population who have not received the HPV vaccination. Other findings also show that the first dose of HPV vaccination is effectively given at the age of under 20 years and is very effective as a prophylaxis to suppress cervical cancer recurrence. The results of this literature review can be used as a basis for increasing the promotion and awareness of HPV vaccination in women of childbearing age so that it can reduce the incidence of cervical cancer.
