Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the process of civilizing Islamic values in educational activities in the formal education environment. In theory, formal education institutions are considered effective in cultivating Islamic values for character building for learning citizens. Professional practitioner activities combine constellations of values, goals, sanctions, knowledge and methods that are consistently manifested in the form of certain moral ideas. The operational forms as are expressed in everyday actions with a specified level of system and target. The study was carried out through observation and interviews with purposive participants and also snowballing method. All available information is analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study state that the civilizing of character values in formal education institutions becomes effective because psychologically students will be more obedient, fearful, and reluctant to teachers than parents or the general public. The main key is consistent in the application of rules, evaluation, reward and punishment in applying religious character, moderate, intelligent, independent and nationality which is a benchmark for the successful planting of Islamic values to shape the nation's character.  Key words: Civilization, Education, Islamic Values, Character of the Nation.

Abstract

There are various methods and approaches to understanding religion in producing knowledge of its teachings (knowing), with various riyadhah (practices) that produce skills in performing rituals (doing), and finally realizing the teachings of religious doctrines in daily behavior (being). Unfortunately, in understanding religion, there are still many who use partial methods and approaches; as a result, we can still encounter disputes and contradictions in society. So, by understanding the method used, it is hoped that a sense of tasamuh will arise among the people. Because the experience of religious rites is subjective, involves personal emotions, and is influenced by the goals and backgrounds. Because the methodology for understanding Islamic teachings can be quantitative and qualitative, the truth can differ depending on the approach used. So, we must respect these two truths, through husnudhan (kindness), tasamuh (tolerance), and salāmatu al-shudūr (open-mindedness), accepting the necessity of differences.

Abstract

Tersetting sense to describe the nature of truth. He can tell the difference deeds good and bad, love and hate, lies and truth, falsehood and of truth. In human nature also has drawbacks, such as weakness in abstinence so gullible power, like a hasty, inaccurate, and so forth. Then this is where the urgency of Revelation is guiding sense to the truth, because people will not know the true nature except berpondasi on revelation. IbnTaymiyya and IbnHazm's position as an instrument Intellect condition or disposition "gharizah". Gharizah sense will be a requirement for all kinds of science, whether Rational or Irrational, so that sense can not be contrary to revelation. Muslim philosophers who sought to prove the relationship between reason and revelation of which IbnRushd which explains the "relationship". IbnTaymiyya tried to avoid conflict or explain "suitability".

Abstract

The important role shown by formal educational institutions is very effective in cultivating Islamic values ​​for the formation of characters expected by the Indonesian nation. The activities of professional practitioners combine consistent constellation of values, goals, sanctions, knowledge and methods manifested in the form of certain moral ideas. Concrete operational form expressed in daily deeds with the level of system and target that has been determined, into its own value in growing the character istiqamah. Values ​​are a key element in the social structure that influences the basic orientation, belief system, as well as the actions of individuals and social institutions. Values ​​influence the guidelines or criteria for the appearance of a person's character behavior. Although in other studies the family character education may be more effective, but in this study the character culture values ​​in formal education institutions are more effective because psychologically the learners will be more obedient, afraid, and reluctant to the teacher than the parents or the general public. The main key is consistent in the application of rules, evaluation, reward and punishment in applying religious, moderate, intelligent, independent, and national character which serve as the benchmark for successful implementation of Islamic values ​​to shape the nation's character. The methods adopted in this study site may be grounded theory designs in the formation of Islamic values ​​in order to have a generation of characters that are rolled out by the government, amidst the moral, mental and character crises of learners and teenagers in general.Finally, if in this study many shortcomings or errors can be retested by the same methods and tools and generate new conclusions that may be the same or may be different. Suggestions and suggestions from various parties that are competent are expected to improve the writing and research.
