Abstract

Background: Soy milk is a drink with full of nutrients, especially contains high protein and vitamin. In room’s temperature, soy milk easy to be damage because of bacterial’s activity. Storaging in low temperature is one of control effort to prevent damaging in soy milk. Research Purpose: To find out whether there is influence of soy milk long-time storaging in refrigator toward bacterial psychrophilic’s growth. Research methods: Methods which use in this research is quasi experimental with pre and post test with control design program. Intervention to sample is storaging the sample in refrigator during 1 until 5 days. Results: Data results obtained from this research was the highest number of colony’s growth occured in days 3 with 4733,33 CFU/ml and that number not exceed yet the bacterial pollution number based on soy milk SNI that is 1 x 106. Conclusion: There was influence of soy milk long-time storaging in refrigator toward bacterial psychrophilic’s growth.

Abstract

Background : Pediculosis capitis disease can be found all over the world without the restrictions of age, gender, race, economic status, and social status. Pediculosis capitis mainly affects young children and quickly spread in a dense environment such as dorm, orphanages, large cities and densely populated elementary school with bad hygiene, such behavior is rarely clean the hair. Factors that can help spread Pediculus humanus capitis infestation is socio-economic factors, level of knowledge, personal hygiene, environment, and individual characteristics (age, hair length, and hair type). Methods : This was descriptive study. The population in this study was children who were stayed in kampung Gampingan kota Yoyakarta. Sample was taken by purposive sampling with criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The instrument used laboratory examination about Pediculus humanus capitis with direct examination. Analysis of data used univariate analysis. Result & Conclusion : Pediculosis capitis children who have age 9-12 years in Kampung Gampingan RW XI Yogyakarta was 86.84%.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused byMycobacterium tuberculosis that can invade the lungs as a primary infection which is a major health problem in developing countries. The purpose of this study to identification Acid Resistant Bacteria in patients with symptoms of tuberculosis in the region Ngronggot health center, district Nganjuk. This type of study was a descriptive study. The sample in this study is the sputum of patients with suspected tuberculosis. The study was conducted in district health centers Nganjuk Ngronggot on May 14 to June 30, 2012 were 116 patients with symptoms of cough for more than three weeks and gained 7.76% or 9 people who suffer from tuberculosis with positive sputum smear examination. And the obtained results of 92.24% or 107 people with negative sputum smear examination.

Abstract

Background :. Escherichia coli is a bacteria cause of infections such as diarhea and urinary tractus infection. Antibiotic used for treatment of diarhea and urinary tractus infection include ampicilin, penicilin G, amoxicilin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, and sulbenicin. These antibiotic are often used, but it has some side effects as well as the emergence of resistance. Treatment with minimal effects and does not cause mildew resistance continue to alternative antibacteria. Cabbage leaf is a vegetable which contains flavonoid, saponin, polifenol, and tanin that are antibacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine antibacteria effectivity ethanol extract of cabbage leaf (Brassica oleracea var.capitata f.alba) againts Escherichia coli bacteria in vitro. Method : This research is an experimental study with the method of diffusion (Kirby Bauer). Escherichia coli bacteria isolated obtained from Medical Laboratory Technology of Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta. Ethanol extract obtained through maseration extraction method and the concentration used were 60%, 70%, 80%, 80%, 90%, and 100%. Analysis of the research results in table and narration. Results : The results of inhibition zone is formed at a concentration of 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100% respectively are 11,33 mm, 12,33 mm, 13 mm, 14,33 mm, and 15 mm.). Conclusion : Ethanol extract of cabbage leaf (Brassica oleracea var.capitata f.alba) are antibacteria againts Escherichia coli bacteria with strong category in (10-20 mm).

Abstract

Background: Infectious diseases are diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. This bacterium is a gram-positive, cocci-shaped chain that infect the respiratory tract. As a result of irrational use of antibiotics is causing bacterial resistance. Utilization of plants used in traditional medicine as an alternative by some people. Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) is a plant that can be used as a traditional medicine can be found easily in Indonesia. Binahong is one of the medicinal plants are thought to have antibacterial effects. Objective: To investigate the effect of leaf extracts binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten) Steenis) against Streptococcus pyogenes bacterial growth in vitro. Research Methods: The study was conducted in July 2014 in the Laboratory of Bacteriology of Ministry of Health polytechnic Yogyakarta. Types experimental research is real by using desain one-short case study. Binahong leaves were tested came from Yogyakarta Sleman. Analysis of the data obtained and performed descriptive statistics and presented in tables or graphs. The statistical test used is one way analysis of variance (One Way Anova). Result: The mean diameter of inhibition zone binahong leaf extract on the growth of the bacterium Streptococcus pyogenes at the smallest concentration that is 20% of 12.3 mm and largest concentration of 100% at 23.6 mm. Conclusion: there is influence binahong leaf extract against Streptococcus pyogenes growth in vitro.
