Abstract

Permendikbud No. 65 of the standard curriculum in the learning process 2013 highly recommended approach is to use learning approaches that produce work. Based on these models are suitable is Problem Based Learning models.  Problem Based Learning models is designed to help students develop thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and intellectual skills. This research aims to improve learning outcomes and critical thinking skills studentsSMA 5 Banjaramasin to the application of Problem Based Learning models. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, each cycle of 2 meetings. The subjects were students of class X MIA 4 SMA Negeri 5 Banjarmasin. Cognitive learning outcomes of students has increased of the first cycle of 36.2% and cycle II of 90.7%, from the data obtained indicate achievement of classical completeness is set at ≥ 85%. Results of the assessment process is fair in every cycle. LKS assessment results classified as good in every cycle, the first cycle of 76.57% and 88.69% second cycle. Assessment of products / works has increased from 73.19% the first cycle and 83.59% second cycle. Affective student assessment results quite well on the assessment of character behavior and social skills in every cycle. Assessment of critical thinking skills of students has increased from 73.55% the first cycle and cycle II 82.11%, from the data obtained shows that the achievement of success indicators research students' critical thinking skills quite well. Students' response to the application of Problem Based Learning models showed high positive answer is 55.41% of students agreed. Under these conditions, the application of the model Pembelajaran Berdasarkan Problems can improve learning outcomes and the critical thinking skills of students on the Monera Kingdom Concept.Keywords: Monera Kingdom Concept, Problem Based Learning Model, the Learning Outcomes and Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Research to learning outcome and student's activity done to X MIA class student 3 SMAN 5 Banjarmasin in virus concept. This research aim to describe result increase learn and student's activity in X MIA class 3 SMAN 5 Banjarmasin by using Problem Based Learning. Research methods was class action research (PTK) which involved 39 students consisted from 12 fellow and 27 women as research subject. Research result indicate that model (PBM)'s used in Virus material can improve result learn represent postes result in I cycle totalled 41,5 % and II cycle totalled 86 %, from data obtained show classical mastery accessibility that determined as big as ≥ 85 %. Student's activity increase seen in I cycle to II cycle in problem solving seen from data obtained in I cycle totalled 94 % and in II cycle totalled 98 %. LKS result indicates increase in I cycle 77,68 % and II cycle totalled 87,93 %. Process evaluation and psychomotor appertain well. Behavior assessment character and social craftsmanship appertain satisfy. Product assessment result show increase with I cycle percentage value and II namely 3,01 % and 3,72 %. Based on student's response data in Problem Based Learning states 61,38 % agrees, until learning use PBM model summed can improve learning outcome and X MIA class student's activity 3 SMAN 5 Banjarmasin in Virus concept.Keywords: Virus Concept, PBM, learning outcomes and student activity

Abstract

Research on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills has been conducted on student of class XI MIPA 2 SMAN 4 Banjarmasin in motion system subconcepts, that is kind of motion system and abnormality of motion system. The aims of this research is to 1). test the effect of implemenation of problem solving toward cognitive learning outcomes (including affective and psycomotor learning outcomes), 2) describe the effect of implementation of problem solving model toward critical thinking skills of students. The research method designed with a quasi-experimental design for study the results of cognitive and analytical method for affective learning outcomes; psychomotor; as well as critical thinking skills.The samples were 36 students of class XI MIPA 2 as a treatment class and 36 students of class XI MIPA 1 as a control class. Technique of data analysis used for the analysis of the cognitive learning outcomes covariance using SAS 6.04 and for critical thinking skills is descriptive analysis. The results showed 1). cognitive learning results showed a significant difference between students in treatment and control class (F-ratio = 32,44; P = 0,0001; C.V. = 9,001) with 48% influence, 2) Affective learning outcomes for behavior character of students quite satisfactory and social skills as very good, 3) Psychomotor learning outcomes of students classified as good. 4) The results of critical thinking skill of students classified as good.Keywords: problem solving, critical thinking, motion system
