Abstract

a lot of knowledge that produces a variety of technologies that can be used by humans. The value of truth is measured to what extent it can be observed through various researches in the scientific method. Profane science must be born systematically and methodically. The results of such paradigms give rise to anomalies among scientists and scientists. Faced with that there is an idea to build new science so as not to glorify a scientific method. This idea was sparked by the great scientist Thomas Kuhn. For him, there must be a revolution in the structure of modern science. Changing the old paradigm to the new paradigm must be done following the times (up to date). Furthermore, the building of science that has been built firmly in the West has been eroded by moral values and spirituality. What and how it relates to the building of Islamic science is a challenge for Muslims in taking the meaning of the scientific revolution. A paradigm shift is needed in every dimension of science. The focus of this research is Thomas Kuhn's scientific revolution which then drew the common thread over the building of Islamic science. This research is based on library research to reveal how modern science works and its relation to Islamic science.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas mengenai studi Islam Indonesia melalui kaca mata pendidikan. Studi Islam Indonesia tidak lepas daripada pendidikan Islam itu sendiri. Pendidikan Islam di Indonesia sudah ada sejak Islam itu sendiri masuk ke Indonesia. Fokus pada penelitian ini adalah fakta historis dan dinamika pendidikan Islam yang terjadi pada masa penjajahan Belanda hingga kemerdekaan dengan kaca mata Karel A. Steenbrink. Steenbrink yang dikenal sebagai seorang Orientalis telah melakukan kajian historis atas dinamika perkembangan studi Islam di Indonesia melalui bidang pendidikan. Melalui penelitian Steenbrink tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam Indonesia terpusat melaui berbagai lembaga pendidikan. Dalam hal ini, Steenbrink lebih memfokuskan penelitiannya pada lembaga pendidikan pesantren. Sejak masa penjajahan hingga kemerdekaan eksistensi pesantren sebagai moda pendidikan tradisional tetap bertahan hingga hari ini. Dengan adanya laju modernitas dari berbagai kawasan dunia, menuntut pula pesantren untuk bertransformasi dalam bidangn pendidikannya yang modern, moderat, dan berwawasan islami. Akhirnya pesantren menjadi sebuah lembaga pendidikan yang menjadi miniatur hidup bagi wajah pendidikan dan studi keislaman di Indonesia.

Abstract

Women become decisive agents in building resilience and community recovery in times of crisis, as happened in Bengkulu Province. One of the serious crises that society has recently faced has occurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The crisis arose due to various factors and the pandemic further exacerbated the impact of the crisis, even after the pandemic. In Bengkulu Province, the declining condition of the community has contributed to the increase in the number of cases. Even so, various parties have taken the best steps to overcome the crisis with various approaches. This article reveals the mainstream gender issues in Bengkulu Province society, especially during the pandemic, and how women seek solutions. This research is based on a literature study using the descriptive-analytical method. The theoretical framework used is gender and agency theory to see emerging gender issues and women's agency in tackling the complexity of the crisis in Bengkulu Province. This study shows that women's agency is seen in the realm of discourse and real action in society and contributes to building women's resilience in facing times of crisis. Through various discussions, scientific activities, and socialization in the context of educating women, they show their agency and resilience. Women's agencies are also seen in the form of real action in the community. This study provides recommendations to various parties in Bengkulu Province that to resolve the current and future crises, it is necessary to involve women and men in an egalitarian manner by upholding equal rights and obligations.
