Abstract

An increase in blood sugar levels caused diabetes mellitus, and various other health complications. One of the herbal therapy approaches can be used by consuming mahogany seeds which are believed to reduce blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of consuming mahogany seeds to reduce blood sugar levels. This was a quasi-experiment with non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design conducted on March 24-26 2020. A sample of 22 respondents was divided into 2 groups: treatment group and control group selected by purposive sampling. The data was collected by observation. The data was analysed by Paired t-test. The treatment group before consuming the dry extract of Mahogany seeds (Mean=258.27; SD= 46.98), and after consuming the dry extract of Mahogany seeds (Mean= 185.36; SD= 38.85). In the control group, before consuming the extract of Mahogany seed ekring (Mean= 224.27; SD= 14.73), and after consuming Mahogany seed extract (Mean= 213.27; SD=6.75). It was statistically significant (p= 0.001). Consumption of dry extract of Mahogany seeds effectively reduces blood sugar levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Consumption of mahogany seeds can be used as a complementary therapy in nursing to reduce blood sugar.

Abstract

Patient Safety has a critical component of hospital qualitymanagement. One of the components in Patient Safety that must be implemented in theOperating Room is the Surgical Safety Checklist. Compliance in the implementation of theSurgical Safety Checklist is influenced by several factors such as knowledge of SurgicalPatient Safety owned by the Surgical Team. This study aims to determine the relationshipbetween the level of knowledge of the surgical team about Surgical Patient Safety withcompliance in the implementation of Surgical Safety Checklist in the Operating Room ofDungus Hospital Madiun.

Abstract

Tujuan umum pengobatan pada diabetes melitus adalah mengendalikan kadar gula darah dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita, salah satu caranya dengan pengaturan diet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kepatuhan diet dengan kualitas hidup pada penderita diabetes melitus di Poli Penyakit Dalam RSUD Kertosono. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Poli Penyakit Dalam RSUD Kertosono pada tanggal 02 – 12 Agustus 2017 dengan menggunakan desain korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi berjumlah rata-rata 200 penderita dalam sebulan dengan menggunakan accidental sampling dengan sampel pasien berjumlah 50 penderita. Variabel independennya adalah kepatuhan diet, dan variabel dependennya adalah kualitas hidup penderita diabetes mellitus. Pengumpulan data dengan kueisoner. Uji Statistik yang digunakan spearman rank dengan a = 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sebagian besar kepatuhan diet penderita diabetes mellitus dalam kategori cukup sebanyak 31 penderita (62%), dan sebanyak 24 penderita (48%) memiliki kualitas hidup sedang. Pada analisis korelasi dengan spearman rank didapatkan hasil p = 0,000 < a = 0,05 dan r = 0,791, yang artinya ada hubungan antara kepatuhan diet dengan kualitas hidup penderita diabetes mellitus di Poli Dalam RSUD Kertosono. Sedangkan nilai r = 0,791 artinya keeratan hubungan antara kedua variabel dalam kategori cukup. Kepatuhan diet memiliki peranan penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita DM. Pola makan, istirahat, dan olahraga yang dilakukan secara seimbang dapat mengatur kadar gula dalam nilai normal yang akan memberikan kesehatan pada penderita DM. Terpeliharanya kesehatan dengan baik, akan meningkatkan produktifitas sehingga kualitas hidup akan menjadi lebih baik.

Abstract

Human daily activities demanding motion or bending forRoom than backRoom, strenuous activities such as lifting heavy loads incorrectly, or the sitting position with a long period of time causes pain in the limbs, the arms, the joints and muscle tissue. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of acupuncture on patients’ pain levels decreased Low Back Pain (LBP) in Neurology Room Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital. This type of research pre-experimental research design One-Group Prepost test design. The sample was patient Low Back Pain (LBP) who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria in Neurology Room Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital months 1 to 31 December 2012 as many as 20 patients with LBP. The analysis used was Wilcoxon signed rank test, with α = (0.05). Results showed before being given acupuncture treatment most severe levels of pain categories were 11 (55%) and the level of pain after acupuncture treatment was given most of the categories were as many as 12 (60%). The results of the analysis obtained by Wilcoxon sign rank test p value (0.000) <α = (0.05) then there is the effect of acupuncture on patients’ pain levels decreased Low Back Pain (LBP) in Neurology Room Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital. Acupuncture therapy effectively reduce the patient’s pain, but keep in mind the factors that affect the level of pain such as gender, age, education, occupation, and length of employment so that the results can be optimal acupuncture therapy.

Abstract

One therapy that can reduce pain intensity is keroncong music therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of keroncong music therapy on reducing pain intensity in post trauma patients at RSUD Nganjuk. This study used a pre-experimental research design with the One Group Pre-Post Test Design approach.The population that met the inclusion criteria. The number of samples is 22 respondents with purposive sampling technique. The results of the study from 22 respondents, before being given therapy almost all respondents were 18 respondents with severe pain intensity (82%), while the intensity of pain after being given music therapy most respondents were 15 respondents with moderate pain intensity (68%). The Wilcoxon test results obtained pvalue = 0,000 α = (0,05), so H1 was accepted. This shows that there is an influence of keroncong music therapy on the reduction in pain intensity in post trauma patients in RSUD Nganjuk.
