Abstract

This research aims to find the relation between Nafri, Sentani, and Tabla language. The researcher used lexicostatistical approach. Lexicostatistics is a technique in which language groupings tend to promote observation of words (lexicon) statistically. Through this technique, it is then possible to draw conclusion based upon similarity percentage and differences between one language and another. The results showed that Nafri, Sentani, and Tabla language come from one language family.

Abstract

This paper discusses about noun phrase in Nambla language (Tukuih). Noun phrase is aphrase which has same distribution as noun. The objective of this paper is to describe the patterns of noun phrase of Nambla language, kinds of word classes which fill into attribute constituent, word class sequences which fill into attribute constituent and correlation of meaning between nucleus constituent and attribute one. This paper uses descriptive method which includes collecting data, analyzing data and presenting the result of data analysis. In collecting the data, the researcher uses conversational method by stimulating technique as a basic technique and face to face conversation technique and noting technique as the advance technique. in analyzing the data, the researcher uses distributional method. General patterns of noun phrase of Nambla language is DM. Noun phrase of Nambla language consist ofnucleus constituent which is always filled by noun and attribute constituent which can befilled by noun, pronoun, adjective, determiner, numeral, and relative clause. Some relations of meanings which emerge as a result of this syntax process are possessive meaning, locative,qualitative, quantitative, deictic and description.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the adverb in Mooi Languge. This study is qualitative that used descriptive method with three stages, namely colllecting data, analyzing data, and presentating of data result. This study used face to face interview method and note tecnique to collect the data. To analyzed the data used shared method with immediate share component.  According to analysis, adverb in Mooi, refers to its form, consist of two forms, they are word-base adverb and reduplication word adverb. Based on its syntax, adverb of Mooi has two positions. One is preceding adverb (on the left side of adverb) and another is following adverb (on the right side of adverb). In term of sense, Mooi language is able to express several meanings such as negation, calculation, limitation, degree, tense, entirely, probability, must, and frequency.
