Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic has dropped the economy of the world. Islamic banks as part of the economy are also affected by this pandemic. The study aims to provide an overview of the performance of Islamic Commercial Banks (BUS) in Indonesia before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The measurement of financial performance will use several financial ratios, namely ROA, CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO, and NOM. The research sample is all BUS in Indonesia. The years 2018 and 2019 will be used as the period before the Covid-19 pandemic, while 2020 and 2021 will be used as the period during the Covid-19 pandemic. It uses a quantitative method with measurement tools: independent sample t-test and multiple linear regression. The results of the independent sample t-test are the CAR, FDR, and BOPO variables have differences in the period before the pandemic and during the pandemic. While the ROA, NPF, and NOM variables have no difference in the period before and during the pandemic. From the partial multiple linear regression test (t-test), financial ratios in the form of BOPO and NOM influence ROA. While the variables CAR, FDR, and NPF do not affect ROA. On the other hand, simultaneously the variables CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO, and NOM affect ROA. The research results from this article can be used as a source of information by stakeholders in making policies for a better BUS future.

Abstract

“A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow because a dollar today can be invested to get a return”. This sentence has made the function of money which was originally a medium of any transactions turned into commodities for getting any returns. By TVM, productivity and efficiency in investment and business can be measured. However, TVM on the Islamic viewpoint is closely related to interest. The objection of this study is to analyze critically the concept of the time value of money and its relation to interest, as well as the solution that has been offered. This paper is qualitative research with a literature approach based on primary data. The deductive method is used for collecting any data related to the topic of research, while the inductive method is used to describe the findings from primary data. The results of this study indicate that there are several rationalities for implementing TVM in the financial system including time preference, interest, risk bearing, uncertainty, and inflation that arise in society. The implication is, that any rationality that arises from the implementation of TVM must be followed by economic activities that occur in society. In this case, the economic value of time plays a role in separating natural certainty contracts and natural uncertainty contracts. This separation ultimately has implications for the elimination of gharar and interest in contracts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the inflation rate, the BI 7 Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI-7 Day RR), and the money supply on Mudharabah and Musyarakah financing at Panin Dubai Syariah Bank. This type of research is quantitative research using secondary data. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistics, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing with the OLS method. Inflation rate, BI 7 Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI-7 Day RR), and money supply act as independent variables while Mudharabah financing and Musyarakah financing act as dependent variables. Based on the test results, the money supply factor has a significant effect on Musyarakah's financing. The implication of this research is that Bank Panin Dubai Syariah should focus on the circulation of the money supply in the community which shows an escalation of people's purchasing power so that they are able to implement policies that make Musyarakah financing more needed by the community.
