Abstract

Reading is an activity to obtain information from a text. Reading a text is not easy, it requires an understanding to get a meaning. The objective of the research was to identify the implementation of the scenario in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text using the Student Team Achievement Division and to find out students’ responses. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research was tenth-grade students of Vocational High School in Cimahi. The data were collected by using observation, questionnaires, and documents. The results of the research were the implementation of STAD in teaching reading comprehension was appropriated with the learning scenario. In the implementation of STAD in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text got a good response from students. By using STAD on English study could increase students' reading comprehension, students were motivated and involved in the active learning process. In addition, students felt learning was fun and not boring. STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) was suitable in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text at the tenth-grade students. Abstract

This study concentrated on investigating the use of the translation procedure of the translated lyrics. The objectives of the research were to find out the translation procedure used to translate song lyrics by Agnes Monica "things will get better" and the moral value in her album Agnezmo. This is a qualitative study. Data examination was paralleling the authentic language and the translated lyrics type to investigate the most used of translation procedure. The outcomes of the research displayed that there were 23 data of the translated lyrics and 8 translation procedures established in this study. Literal translation procedure was the highest often used with a total of nine, shadowed by Established equivalent with a total of four. Several other translation procedures were used temperately like linguistic compression with a total of three. The rest procedures used in small levels with a total of one in each, like modulation, amplification, linguistic amplification, and particularization. While the moral value of the song was an effort will not betray the results, but mutual trust and forgiveness of each other in a relationship is the key or way so that the relationship will go on better. Keywords:  Translating Procedures, Lyric, Song, Moral Value

Abstract

This article aims to find out the kind and dominant deixis found in the song lyrics of Bangtan Boys and to identify the moral value of song by Bangtan Boys for human’s life. The descriptive qualitative method was used to conduct this article. The data of this article were obtained by using documents and library research. The Source of data on this research was song lyrics from Bangtan boys namely “Dynamite”. Based on the results and discussion, the researchers deixis proposed deixis from Yule (1996) was found in BTS’s song lyrics. 56 data that contained deixis, included personal deixis is mostly found in 36 occurrences dominant in this song. The words are I, you, me, we, and my. Spatial deixis those are home, this, the city, and in the mirror which found in 7 occurrences. Temporal deixis is tonight, day or night, night, mortn, when and summer which are found in 13 occurrences. It can be concluded , in song lyrics “Dynamite”  the most dominant type used of deixis were personal deixis. The researchers founded 3 types of moral values from the song that are bravely, cooperativeness and thankfulness.  The researchers concluded that the moral values in song lyrics “Dynamite” by BTS was living life by doing the best and full of spirit.
