Abstract

ABSTRACKThe insect morphology research coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) in Tirta Kencana village, Makarti Jaya district, Banyuasin regency was conducted in April-Mei 2021. The research objective was to determine the morphology of insect pest on coconut plants (Cocos nucifera L.) in Tirta Kencana village. This study uses a purposive sampling method, that are three capture methods (insecting net, fitfall trap, light trap). The observation parameters include the type of head, mouth, antennae, wings and legs. The results of the study obtained 123 insects from 6 orders, 9 species. The insects that have potential as the pests consist of 2 orders and 5 species, there are Apogonia expeditionis, Orycthes rhinoceros, Oxya chirensis, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus and Valanga SP. Biting-chewing mouth type, 2 head types, namely Prognatus and Hypognatus, Lamellate and Filiform antenna types, Hard and Straight wing types, Cursorial and Saltatorial leg types. Keywords : Coconut Plants (Cocos nucifera L.), Insect Pests, Morphological Characteristics.

Abstract

Pineapple is a tropical plant with fresh fruit that has a sweet and slightly sour taste. Pineapple is usually propagated vegetatively by saplings or fruit crown shoots because these plants are pertenocarpic. Plants are nodes that soar upwards. This research was conducted to determine the types of pineapples found in Prabumulih Regency/City and to determine the characteristics of these types of pineapples. This research uses survey method by conducting exploration in Prabumulih Regency/City.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the FST Workshop at PGRI Palembang University. The time of the study starts from May to June 2021. This type of research is an experimental study using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications, so there are 25 treatment units. The treatments consisted of: (P0) with a dose of 0 ml, (P1) with a dose of 100 ml of rice/plant washing water, (P2) with a dose of 200 ml of rice/plant washing water, (P3) with a dose of 300 ml of rice washing water. /plant, and (P4) with a dose of 400 ml of rice washing water/plant. The variables observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, and wet weight of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). The results showed that the rice washing water treatment on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) did not have a significant effect on increasing the number of leaves of mustard greens, but had a significant effect on the growth of plant height and wet weight of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) .).

Abstract

The research method utilized an experimental design with 6 treatments of local vegetable types: water spinach leaves (P1), spinach leaves (P2), cassava leaves (P3), sweet leaf leaves (P4), lettuce leaves (P5), and mustard greens (P6), replicated 5 times. The parameters observed were the weight of vegetables consumed (feed reduction) and the body weight growth of the crickets over 7 days. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The ANOVA results showed that the different types of vegetables significantly affected feed consumption levels. The highest average percentage of feed weight reduction was found in lettuce leaves (61.2%) and cassava leaves (58.2%), followed by sweet leaf leaves (51.0%), mustard greens (47.2%), spinach leaves (46.9%), and the lowest was in water spinach leaves (43.5%). Lettuce leaves were preferred due to their soft texture and high moisture content, while cassava leaves were favored for their nutritional protein value. Conversely, spinach and water spinach leaves were less preferred due to antinutritional compounds (oxalic acid) and the rapid wilting nature of the leaves. The daily body weight growth of the crickets was directly proportional to the feed consumption rate. The study concludes that providing lettuce leaves and cassava leaves represents the most effective local alternative feed to maximize the body weight growth of the field cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus).

Abstract

: A study on the diversity and morphological structure of insects attracted to colored traps in a coffee plantation in Perangai Village, Lahat Regency, was conducted from February to June 2026. Employing a survey approach with purposive sampling, five trap color variations (yellow, green, white, red, and blue) were deployed in the study area. The inventory identified 11 insect species: Oxya chinensis, Valanga nigricornis, Hermetia illucens, Bemisia tabaci, Epilachna sp., Atractomorpha crenulata, Periplaneta americana, Musca domestica, Agelastica alni, Leptocorisa oratorius, and Dysdercus cingulatus. Yellow traps attracted the highest number of insects (90 individuals), followed by green (57), white (47), red (15), and blue (8). Morphological analysis revealed diversity in mouthparts (chewing, sucking, piercing-sucking, biting-chewing), head orientation (hypognathous, prognathous, opisthorhynchous), antennal shapes (filiform, clavate, aristate, pectinate), wing types (membranous, elytra, halteres, hemelytra, tegmina), and leg types (cursorial, saltatorial, raptorial).
