Abstract

Happiness is the desire of anyone in their daily life. However, the elderly who are residents of Tresna Werdha Homecare Natar,Lampung Selatan as instead of getting happiness, many elderly people experience social problems. This study was conducted because we found the reality that some elderly people can inhibit their well-being and happiness. This field research aims to describe and interpret in accordance with the problems understudied, namely by focusing on the social problems faced by the elderly. In this study, we describe the forms and factors that cause the social problems encountered by the elderly, and how religious and social guidance play its significant roles in the Tresna Werdha Natar Homecare. Conclusions we draw on the urgency of religious and social guidance in addressing the social problems of the elderly. Data was obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data source in this study is 15 participants people consisting of seven elderly persons, two supervisors, and five staff personnel based. The data was analyzed descriptively through the inductive analysis of Miles and Huberman models. The results show that the importance of religious and social guidance can provide understanding and increase the feeling of calm of the elderly who experience social problems, so that they become happier and more prosperous materially and immaterially because the fulfillment of the merely material needs of the elderly is not enough to complete their spiritual needs.
