Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused an unprecedented collapse in international tourism, severely impacting Indonesia’s visitor-dependent economy. In response, tourism stakeholders accelerated the adoption of digital solutions to mitigate losses and stimulate recovery. This study investigates how digital tourism has influenced the rebound in international tourist arrivals to Indonesia between 2020 and 2024. Employing a systematic literature review, the analysis identifies four key themes: digital marketing and destination branding, virtual tourism platforms, mobile-based and contactless services, and policy-driven digital readiness. Findings show that digital innovations played a crucial role in restoring destination visibility, traveler trust, and operational adaptability. However, their impact was uneven due to infrastructural disparities, digital literacy gaps, and inconsistent policy execution. The study concludes that while digital tourism fosters resilience and competitiveness, its long-term success requires inclusive infrastructure, inter-institutional coordination, and strategic national integration.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the tourist attractions at the Museum of the Asian-African Conference (MKAA) in Bandung and evaluate the impact of tourism budget allocation policies on educational, social, economic, and environmental aspects. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews with visitors, MSMEs, and museum managers, and field documentation. The results indicate that the MKAA has succeeded in becoming an effective historical education platform, especially for school and university students. Socially, the museum raises public awareness of the importance of cultural heritage and enriches cross-cultural experiences for domestic and international tourists. The economic impact is also significant, with local business owners experiencing a 2-4 fold increase in income on weekends and holidays. Environmentally, conservation efforts have been made through the provision of green spaces and sanitation facilities, although challenges such as increased waste and traffic congestion remain. This study recommends the development of digital attractions, strengthening environmental management systems, and further studies using a quantitative approach to more comprehensively measure the effectiveness of the policy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of government budget allocation policies on the tourism sector, particularly in the context of their impact on the local economy and tourism sustainability in the Dago Dreampark area, West Bandung. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, through in-depth interviews with visitors, local business owners, local residents, and tourism managers. The results indicate that the existence and development of Dago Dreampark have had a significant positive impact on the community, particularly economically, such as increased employment and local business opportunities. From a socio-cultural perspective, interactions between tourists and the community encourage the exchange of values and increase social openness, although this requires cultural adaptation. Environmentally, the management of the tourism area is considered quite well-organized in terms of cleanliness, but issues such as congestion and noise remain major challenges, particularly during the holiday season. The study also found that local government budget allocation plays a significant role in supporting tourism development, both through basic infrastructure development and operational funding assistance. However, the technical and operational management of the tourism area is largely carried out independently by the managers, utilizing funds from various sources, including tourist contributions and government assistance. To achieve sustainable tourism goals, a more holistic budget allocation policy is needed, focusing not only on physical development but also on community empowerment, local cultural preservation, and environmental protection. This study concludes that the success of tourism sector development is measured not only by the increase in visitor numbers but also by its impact on the community's quality of life and the sustainability of natural resources.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the Curug Tilu Leuwi Opat tourist destination on the environment, socio-cultural environment, and economic growth of the local community in West Bandung Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews with five tourists, two MSMEs, and several local residents living near the tourist area. The results indicate that this tourist destination provides a significant economic contribution to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially as tourist numbers increase. The socio-cultural impact is evident in changes in community behavior in terms of lifestyle, speech, and dress due to interactions with tourists, which can lead to cultural acculturation. Environmentally, cleanliness and natural preservation are considered well-maintained, supported by tourist awareness and adequate supporting facilities. Tourist satisfaction is also high due to the availability of complete public facilities. However, some local residents have voiced complaints about traffic congestion, noise, and rising prices of goods that are disproportionate to their incomes. The government, through the tourism office and Perhutani (Perhutani), is actively involved in the management of the destination, although equitable distribution of economic benefits and comprehensive community involvement remain challenges. Therefore, inclusive and sustainable community-based tourism management is crucial to ensure that all parties receive equitable benefits from tourism activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of sustainable tourism on the community surrounding Kiara Artha Park, Bandung, from a social, economic, and environmental perspective. The approach used in this study was descriptive qualitative, with data collection methods through direct observation and interviews with eleven visitors and several vendors operating in the park area. The results indicate that the park has a positive impact on social comfort, where visitors feel safe, calm, and have a space to interact and exercise. From an economic perspective, the park's presence has increased the income of small vendors and created new business opportunities. However, several obstacles remain, such as noise from surrounding traffic, facilities that are not accessible to people with disabilities, and a lack of informative signage. This study concludes that Kiara Artha Park reflects the principles of sustainable tourism, although it still needs strengthening in terms of inclusivity and environmental management. Future research is recommended to use a quantitative approach to measure economic impacts more thoroughly and involve more actors in the analysis.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the urgency to understand the extent to which fiscal policy is able to encourage improvements in the quality of educational tourism destinations, as well as its impact on the surrounding community. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of budget allocation policies on the development of the Bandung Geological Museum in three main dimensions: social, economic, and environmental. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of field observations, brief interviews with local business actors, and supported by relevant literature studies. The results show that budget policies have played a significant role in improving museum facilities, developing interactive educational content, digitizing visitor services, and improving the quality of public services. From a social perspective, the museum has become a space for learning across ages and strengthens the community's sense of pride in Indonesia's geological richness. Economically, there has been a multiplier effect on the surrounding community, particularly micro-enterprises and street vendors. However, there are still challenges in maintaining order among informal vendors, who have not been legally integrated into the management of the tourist area. Environmentally, the museum has demonstrated a commitment to cleanliness and comfort, although improvements are still needed in the visitor information system and the presentation of audiovisual content. Overall, the Bandung Geological Museum serves as a clear example of how well-targeted budget allocation can encourage the transformation of an educational tourism destination that is not only visually appealing and educational but also has a positive impact on community welfare and environmental conservation. This study recommends the need for synergy between the government, museum management, MSMEs, and the community to ensure the sustainability of the benefits created.
