Abstract

Islam is often preceived as a religion that give lack attention to the rights ofreproduction for women. Islam is considered as religion that views reproduction aswomen’s duty and never views women’s rights in relation to reproduction. In onehand, as the functions of reproduction, a woman has some duties to be pregnant, givebirth, breast feed, and take care of her children as well as other duties related tothese. But, on the other hand, woman’s rights related to reproduction are oftenignored. Moreover, conventinal interpretation often leads muslims to have aperception that choosing a marital partner, enjoying sexual intercouse, havingchildren, deciding when to be pregnant, and the decision to divorce are not parts ofwoman’s rights. All of these decisions are commonly hold by a man. Such problemoften occurs in Majlis Ta’lim in Banyumas Regency, especially one in Cikembulan,District of Pekuncen, which most of the members are women.This is a qualitative research mostly depending on the ability to observe,interview, and interpret. The analysis used in this research was qualitative dataanalysis using verstehen model. The research findings are: generally memebers ofSalma al-Fareeha assume that the right to decide pregnancy and to have children isthe right of husband because it is the husband who is responsible to work (nafkah) tosupport the family. Although some of them said that they made the decisiontogether, some others said that the husband decide what contraception to be used bythe wife. This fact shows that the ideals and the reality of the rights of reproductionin the majlis ta’lim were influenced by their level of understanding the religion,education, experience, and age. The younger they are, they realize more about theimportance of reproduction health for women.

Abstract

Al Ahzab 9 to 27 discusses manhaj Allah fi da’wa al- jama’ah al Muslim, that is a concept Allah applied to guide al-jamaah al-muslim to be a strong and powerful community to face the world ’s conspiracy which tries to break down Muslim existence. lt also contains a guide for the prophet to merely give his trust and resignation to Allah. These verses include the goal, target, method, output, and evaluation of the concept of da ’wa Rabba- niyah in actualizing li’ila kalimatillah. This shows that human beings as the khalifah on the earth are not left without guidance from Allah but provided with the universal rules. As a result, if human beings are committed to Allah ’s concept, they will be safe and happy in facing the enemies of Islam.

Abstract

Abstrak: Islam sering dipersepsi sebagai agama yang kurang memberikan perhatian terhadap hak-hak reproduksi perempuan dan juga hanya memposisikan tugas-tugas reproduksi kaum perempuan sebagai kewajiban dan tidak menyinggung hak-hak yang melekat pada tugas-tugas reproduksi itu. Perempuan sejalan dengan fungsi reproduktif yang dimilikinya, mempunyai tugas mengandung anak (al-h}amalah), melahirkan (al-wila>dah), menyusui (ar-rad}a>’ah), mengasuhnya (tarbiyah al-at}fa>l) dan beberapa hal lain yang berkaitan dengan tugas ini. Pengabaian terhadap hak-hak yang terkait dengan fungsi-fungsi reproduktif tersebut tidak hanya bertolak dari penafsiran-penafsiran konvensional yang berada dalam koridor ortodoksi, sebagian kaum muslimin masih memandang bahwa memilih pasangan, menikmati hubungan seks, memiliki keturunan, menentukan kehamilan, cuti reproduksi dan menceraikan pasangan tidak sepenuhnya mutlak melekat pada diri perempuan, sebaliknya kendali justru lebih banyak berada ditangan laki-laki. Persoalan-persoalan serupa juga dapat dirasakan dalam forum pengajian majlis-majlis taklim di Kabupaten Banyumas, khususnya di Majlis Taklim Salma Alfareeha di Desa Cikembulan Kecamatan Pekuncen, yang anggota atau jamaahnya sebagian besar adalah kaum perempuan. Dalam penelitian ini terungkap bahwa secara umum jamaah Majlis Taklim Salma al-Fareeha beranggapan bahwa hak menentukan kehamilan dan memiliki keturunan adalah hak suami, istri harus mengikuti. Hal ini mereka nyatakan dengan alasan, karena suamilah yang bertanggunggug jawab memberi nafkah keluarga, meski menurut mereka sebaiknya diputuskan bersama-sama. Ada suatu pengakuan dari mereka, bahkan jenis kontrasepsi apa yang akan digunakan oleh sang istri ditentukan oleh suaminya. Ini menunjukkan bahwa idealita dan realita hak dan kesehatan reproduksi pada majlis taklim ini dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pemahaman keagamaan mereka (dan pilihan-pilihannya), pendidikan, pengalaman dan usia. Semakin muda mereka rata-rata lebih menyadari akan pentingnya hak dan kesehatan reproduksi perempuan bagi mereka. Abstract: Islam is often perceived as a religion that gives little attention to women's reproductive rights. Issues such as choosing a husband, enjoying sex with her husband, have children, determine pregnancy, lactation, maternity leave, and divorcing couples are under the control of men. Similar problems also occurin the recitation of the Majlis Taklim Forum, Salma Al-Fareeha, Cikembulan Village, District of Pekuncen, which the member of his congregation are mostly women. This is a qualitative study that much depends on the ability of observation, interviews, and interpretation. Facts found are pilgrims Majlis Taklim Salma Al-Fareeha assume the right to determine pregnancy and have children is the husband’s rights, the wife should obey. They claim this for a reason, the husband is responsible to provide for the family. In fact, there is a recognition that the type of contraception used by the wife will be determined by her husband.
