Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology (ICT) that are so rapidly especially Internet now has a lot tochange the world that can be known and felt by the whole world rapidly in a matter of seconds. The purpose of this study to determinewhether there is a relationship and the influence between populations with a total population of Internet users in 20 countries of theworlds highest Internet users in 2008. The method of analysis used is through the application of non-parametric statistics withSpearman correlation coefficients (rs). The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the population numbersof people with internet users in 20 countries of the worlds highest Internet users in 2008. It can be concluded Indonesia was ranked17th in the 20 countries of the worlds highest Internet users. In education, an increase in Internet users, among others, can be doneby establishing the National Education Network and Internet cafés.
