Abstract

Waste treatment technology is not less important for the business of Slaughterhouse (RPH). Various businesses and technologies have been done to handle this waste problem, especially for the rumen waste in RPH. One of them is utilizing the waste as an organic fertilizer. Bovine rumen bacteria are bacteria that originate from the contents of bovine rumen, with simple and inexpensive development techniques. This bacterium helps farmers in improving and developing an insightful agriculture on the preservation of soil fertility and natural resources. The study aims to identify bacteria and find out the diversity, properties, and characteristics of bacteria from the liquid organic content of rumen cows. Methods undertaken by observing colony morphology, colony selection and purification, Gram staining, spores staining, and biochemical testing. Of the four isolates identified there are two bacterial genus, three isolates RS1a, RS2a, RS2b including the genus Bacillus sp. aerobic and an isolates of RS1b including the genus Lactobacillus sp. the facultative of anaerobic. The four isolates of bacteria are able to grow optimum at pH 6.5 and the temperature of 370C is homofermentative.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of ethanol extract 70% herbal basil in the uric acid levels in Sprague, Dawley strain. The test animals used were 25 mice that were divided into 5 groups, each consisting of 5 mice. Group Treatment I Allupurinol 5.04 g/200 g BB as control (+), treatment II CMC 0.5%/200 g BB as Control (-), treatment III ethanol extract 70% herbal basil 0, 4g/200g BB (dose 1), treatment IV ethanol extract 70% herbs basil 0, 8g/200g BB (dose 2) and V treatment ethanol extract 70% herbals Basil 1, 6g/200g BB (dose 3). The results showed that the administration of basil extract of herbals can reduce levels of uric acid during treatment 15 days, the most effective dose is dose 2 (0, 8g/200g BB).

Abstract

Abstract:  Kebar grass (Biophytum petersianum) has chemical compounds with estrogenic effects that have the potential to increase fertility for humans and animals. To make it practical to use, kebar grass extract has been made in the form of tablets. The experimental animals used were mice (Mus musculus) divided into 5 treatment groups, consisting of a group that received 0.065 mg/20g BW of Kebar grass extract tablets, 0.13 mg/20g BW K2, and 0.065 mg/20g BW kebar grass extract. dose of 0.065 mg/20g BW. As a negative control using (CMC Na 1%) and positive control (ethinyl estradiol 7.8 × 10⁻⁵ mg/20g BW). Each experimental animal was given 1 ml of the test solution orally on the first day of the mice experiencing the estrus phase. Observations were made every 12 hours for 7 days. The results of the statistical analysis showed a significantly different effect with the negative control p<0.05. Tablet dosage forms and all treatment doses of coriander grass extract were able to shorten the estrus cycle to 79.2 - 84 hours or 3.3 - 3.5 days and prolong the estrus phase to 93.6 - 96 hours. Tablets and extracts can also affect vascularization and increase the weight of the ovaries and uterus. The conclusion is that the dosage forms of tablets and all treatment doses of coriander grass extract have an estrogenic effect.Abstrak: Rumput kebar (Biophytum petersianum) mempunyai kandungan kimia dengan efek estrogenik yang berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kesuburan bagi manusia maupun hewan.. Agar praktis digunakan maka esktrak rumput kebar telah dibuat dalam bentuk sediaan tablet. Hewan coba yang digunakan yaitu Mencit (Mus musculus) sebanyak 25 ekor dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan, terdiri dari kelompok yang memperoleh tablet ekstrak rumput kebar K1 dosis 0,065 mg/20g BB, K2  dosis 0,13 mg/20g BB, dan ekstrak rumput kebar dosis 0,065 mg/20g BB. Sebagai Kontrol negatif menggunakan (CMC Na 1%) dan kontrol positif (etinil estradiol 7,8 × 10⁻⁵ mg/20g BB). Setiap hewan coba diberikan 1 ml larutan uji per oral saat hari pertama mencit mengalami fase estrus. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap 12 jam selama 7 hari. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata dengan kontrol negatif p<0,05. Bentuk sediaan tablet dan ekstrak rumput kebar seluruh dosis perlakuan mampu memperpendek siklus estrus menjadi 79,2 - 84 jam atau 3,3 – 3,5 hari dan memperlama fase estrus menjadi 93,6 - 96 jam. Tablet dan ekstrak juga dapat mempengaruhi vaskularisasi dan meningkatkan bobot ovarium serta uterus. Kesimpulannya bahwa bentuk sediaan tablet dan ekstrak rumput kebar seluruh dosis perlakuan memiliki efek estrogenik.
