Abstract

The problem of teacher weakness in using software applications to support the online learning process is the theme raised in this training. The solution offered from this training is the Jotform application. The purpose of this training activity is to introduce the Jotform application to teachers in Garut. The research implementation method consists of five stages, namely: introduction, socialization, training, practice, and monitoring. The object of this training activity is the teachers in the Garut region. The training was conducted in two sessions, namely: presentation of material and practice. The benefit of the Jotform application training is evident from the commitment of the training participants about the plan to implement the Jotform application in their learning class. The results of the evaluation of the implementation of this training indicate that this training is useful to support the teaching and learning process carried out in schools. The training method is able to improve the skills of teachers in using the Jotform application. The conclusion of this training is the knowledge in using the Jotform application for teachers so that it is hoped that in the future teachers in Garut will use the Jotform application in making attendance forms and questionnaires/assignments/quizzes

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tantangan tentang bagaimana membelajarkan matematika kepada suatu kelas di jurusan biologi di sebuah Institut sehingga pembelajaran menjadi bermakna dan efektif. Tujuan peneltian adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana kemampuan bermatematika mahasiswa biologi setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model ALC. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 25 mahasiswa tingkat 1 jurusan Biologi di suatu Institut di provinsi Jawa Barat. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 92% subjek penelitian berhasil mencapai nilai tes di atas standar yang ditentukan. Hanya 8% yang masih belum terbantu dengan menggunakan model ini. Berdasar hasil observasi, model ALC secara bertahap mampu membawa suasana pembelajaran lebih kondusif, yang awalnya subjek belajar banyak diam dan tegang dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, menjadi lebih terbuka, mau bertanya dan berusaha memahami apa yang dibelajarkan secara mandiri. Berdasar hasil wawancara model ALC bagi beberapa subjek mampu membuat mahasiswa yang malas membuka buku menjadi mau membuka dan mempelajari buku matematika di rumah, mengerjakan soal soal latihan yang diberikan, belajar matematika di rumah lebih dari biasanya. This research is motivated by the challenges of how to teach mathematics to a class in the biology department at an Institute so that learning becomes meaningful and effective. The purpose of this research is to explore how the mathematical abilities of biology students after learning by using the ALC model. This is descriptive research. Research subjects numbered 25 levels 1 student majoring in Biology at an Institute in the province of West Java. The instruments used were observation sheets, interview guidelines, and tests. The results showed that 92% of research subjects managed to achieve test scores above the specified standard. Only 8% have still not been helped by using this model. Based on the results of observations, the ALC model is gradually able to bring a more conducive learning atmosphere, which initially subjects learning a lot of silence and tension in learning activities, becoming more open, willing to ask questions and try to understand what is being taught independently. Based on the results of the ALC model interviews for some subjects, it can make students who are lazy to open books to be willing to open and study mathematics books at home, do the practice questions given, learn mathematics at home more than usual.

Abstract

Kemampuan representasi matematis sangat penting dalam pembelajaran matematika, akan tetapi dalam kenyataannya siswa cenderung meniru langkah guru dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan representasi verbal, representasi gambar, dan representasi simbol, serta pemahaman dari siswa SMP pada materi statistika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah pada indikator kemampuan representasi verbal dan indikator kemampuan representasi gambar atau visual ketiga subjek yang diteliti sudah cukup menguasai. Pada indikator kemampuan representasi simbol hanya dua subjek yang sudah menguasai, sedangkan satu subjek lainya kurang memahami representasi simbol. Pada pemahaman mengenai materi statistika, rata-rata dari ketiga subjek yang diteliti sudah cukup menguasai materi statistika. Saran penulis bagi guru adalah upayakan guru berusaha memberikan metode dalam penyampaian materi yang membuat siswa bersemangat misalnya memberikan materi melalui video supaya siswa tidak merasa bosan. The ability of mathematical representation is very important in learning mathematics, but in reality, students tend to imitate the teacher's steps in solving problems. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability of verbal representation, image representation, and representation of symbols, as well as an understanding of junior high school students on statistical material. This study uses descriptive research methods. The conclusions obtained from this study are the indicators of verbal representation capabilities and indicators of the capabilities of the representation of the image or visual three subjects studied have been quite mastered. In indicators, the ability of the symbolic representation is only two subjects that have mastered, while the other subjects do not understand the representation of the symbol. In an understanding of statistical material, the average of the three subjects studied has sufficiently mastered statistical material. The author's advice for teachers is to try the teacher trying to provide a method in delivering material that makes students vibrant for example giving material through video so that students don't feel bored.
