Abstract

The wick system is a hydroponic by utilizing the principle of capillarity of nutrient solutions that are absorbed by plant roots through the wick. Flannelette is a material that has the best water absorption and can be used as a wick, another alternative is stove wick. The concentration of nutrients given to plants must also be in needs. Samhong mustard is a type of mustard in the same class as pakcoy. This study aims to determine the effect of the type of wick and nutrient concentration on plant height, number of leaves, and plant weight using hydroponic wick system. The research method was carried out using two independent variables, namely the type of wick consisting of flannelette (S1) and stove wick (S2), and the nutrients concentration consisting of N1 (1,000 ppm), N2 (1,200 ppm), and N3 (1,400 ppm). The measurements results were compared using the Anova two-factorial design test with a level of 5%, and if the results were significantly different, then continued with the BNJ test at a significant level of 5%. The results showed that there was an effect of using different types of wicks and nutrient concentrations on the measurement results of samhong mustard. Flannel wick (S1) has better effect than the stove wick (S2), and the concentration of N1 nutrients has better effect than the concentrations of N2 and N3, with average plant height is 27.9 cm, average number of leaves are 18.8 strands, and the average plant weight is 128.6 g.

Abstract

Leri water is rice washing wastewater which has been only thrown away by the community, is easily produced or obtained every day, and can be used as organic fertilizer in plant cultivation. This study aims to determine the potential of leri water as organic fertilizer for pakcoy plants with table model DFT hydroponics. This research method was carried out using three nutrient solution treatments, namely leri water (N1), leri water + AB mix with a ratio of 1:1 (N2), and AB mix (N3). The results of the measurement of the number of leaves (strands), plant height (cm), and plant weight (g) in the three nutrient solution treatments were compared to determine whether there was a difference using one-way ANOVA with a level of 5%. If the results are significantly different, then proceed with the Tukey's HSD test at the 5% level. The results showed that leri water has the potential as a liquid organic fertilizer when added to AB mix fertilizer, with a ratio of 1:1 (N2) can increase the weight of pakcoy plants by four times the yield of N1.

Abstract

The floating raft is a simple hydroponic system, in which the nutrient solution stagnates without circulation, causing the condition of the dissolved oxygen content in the nutrient solution to be less than optimal for plant growth. To improve aeration can be done using an aerator and the addition of blocks of ice in the nutrient solution. This study aims to determine the effect of aeration using an aerator and temperature regulation of the nutrient solution on mustard samhong using floating raft hydroponics. There are two independent variables used, namely aeration (A) which is grouped into without aerator (A0) and with aerator (A1), and nutrient temperature (T) which is grouped into T1 (18o-20oC), T2 (22o-24oC), and T3 (26o-28oC). Data on plant height, number of leaves, and plant weight were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA test at the 5% level. The results showed that the aerator increased the dissolved oxygen content in the nutrient solution so that it had a better effect on plants, and the nutritional temperature that has the best effect is T1.

Abstract

Hidroponik sistem sumbu adalah metode hidroponik yang sederhana dengan memanfaatkan botol plastik. Selama ini botol plastik belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh warga Desa Pucang Kabupaten Banjarnegara. Selain itu warga juga belum mengetahui tentang hidroponik sistem sumbu. Oleh karena itu, perlu diberikan motivasi kepada warga dengan pelatihan tentang pembuatan hidroponik sistem sumbu melalui KWT Sida Makmur Desa Pucang menggunakan botol plastik. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota KWT Sida Makmur Desa Pucang dalam pembuatan hidroponik sistem sumbu. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan, demonstrasi, dan pengukuran kemampuan peserta PKM. Penyuluhan berisikan materi teori tentang hidroponik, dan demonstrasi tentang pembuatan hidroponik sistem sumbu. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa anggota KWT Sida Makmur mengikuti kegiatan dengan antusias sehingga mampu menyerap materi yang diberikan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan warga. Pada akhir kegiatan tingkat pengetahuan anggota KWT meningkat menjadi 85%-100% dengan rata-rata 95%, sedang tingkat keterampilannya meningkat menjadi 80%-100% dengan rata-rata 88,75%.
