Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology has caused many people who do not have the correct understanding to think that science and religion are very contradictory. But on the other hand for people who accept science and technology consider that it is an extraordinary gift that can make it easier for humans. Thus, there is often a debate between science and technology on religious norms. Along with the times, the progress of science and technology is increasingly growing, and of course the development of this technology must be balanced with the truth of the Word of God that has been believed by the congregation as a provision that science and technology cannot affect his faith even though challenges occur in everyday life. Science and technology in human life are things that can support the continuity and ease of human life in daily life, but it needs to be considered usefulness and benefits obtained so that it does not come out of understanding the truth of God's Word

Abstract

The diversity of religious people in Indonesia shows how many people recognize God as worthy of worship. All religions teach doctrines that devotees should adhere to. In reality, though, many people profess to be religious but fail to practice the religious teachings that they carry out so much as a wicked person. Even if they do not worship god wholeheartedly, God blesses them. It often makes the congregation feel that the lives of the wicked are more comfortable, while those who live righteously in doing the word of the Lord are walking into a lot of trouble. The purpose of this study is to know the magnitude of the implementation of a righteous person's life, to know which dimension most predominates the implementation of the righteous person, and to know the background category that most determines the implementation of a righteous person's life based on Psalm 92:1-16 among church congregations by the quantitative method. It's a survey method. Research Result: The application of a righteous person's life based on Psalm 92:1-16 in the congregation is surprisingly moderate. The dominant dimension in the application of a righteous person's life based on Psalm 92:1-16 is life for God. The background category of the ones who most determine the lives of the righteous based on Psalm 92:1-16 is education.

Abstract

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) says that the Lord Jesus commanded His disciples to preach the gospel and also applies to us as believers to carry out the Great Commission. In preaching the gospel, there are many risks and challenges that missionaries must face and most likely that is what makes most people afraid to preach the gospel, so they prefer to remain silent and keep the good news to themselves. We need to study mission figures who made their lives historic for others when they preached the gospel in a place. Through their experiences, they can give us motivation and enthusiasm to participate in preaching the gospel. The researcher will discuss an evangelistic figure named Nommensen. In his childhood, Nommensen once heard a story about a missionary told by his teacher named Callisen, since then he began to be interested in an event in the story, namely about the struggle to free backwardness, slavery of poor children. In general, Nommensen is known as a famous German evangelist in Indonesia. Because the fruit of his hard work was the establishment of the largest church in the Batak Toba ethnic group. Namely the Church called Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP). The success of evangelism carried out by Ludwig Ingwer Nommensen in Tanah Batak is one of the most prominent examples in the history of missions in Indonesia. This study explores Nommensen's evangelism strategy from the perspective of evangelism theology, by highlighting how his inculturative, educational, and social service approaches contributed to the acceptance of Christianity among the Batak people.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mission methodology applied by Joseph Kam in evangelizing Maluku in the 19th century. Using a practical historical approach, this study explores the strategies used by Joseph Kam, such as home visits, health services, education, and Bible translation, and how these methods were adapted to the local cultural context. This research method involves literature studies and analysis of relevant historical sources to describe the social and religious context at that time. The main findings of this study indicate that Joseph Kam's mission methodology is highly contextual and effective in reaching the Maluku community, and has had a long-term impact on the development of the church in the region. This study also highlights the relevance of Joseph Kam's methods for contemporary evangelism, especially in terms of a sensitive approach to local culture.
