Abstract

Construction industries are a must in developing countries. Constructions take part in almost every corner of the country. In construction projects, reinforced concrete plays big part in any construction. A long bar of steel are cut into be several lengths to satisfy the requirements of the buildings to be build. In this process, waste cannot be avoided. And the waste of steel bar is very destructive to environment. This research is to find a way to minimize the waste in the process of cutting steel bars. The algorithm used is Greedy Search. Greedy Search is where the optimized solution in every step is taken, in the hope that the overall solution will be optimized for the problem. Optimized solution here is the minimum waste by the steel bar cutting. This will minimize the cost by the construction companies and at the same time preserve the environment.

Abstract

Customer service machines for a telecom operator are tools to prevent customers from churning (switching to another provider). So it is important to know the functional of these machines from time to time. These machines also help telecom operators to reduce the number of branch offices because the machines can indicate the existence of the operator without any branch office. Opening a branch office will cost more than machines because it has to rent a bigger place and more employees and equipments needed. However, sometimes these customer service machines have faults that some or all services cannot function well. For this the telecom operator requires another tool that will monitor the functional of the customer service machines. Another device called a monitoring system is required at all time to 'see' the existence of the machines. The monitoring system unfortunately cannot repair machines. If one machine is known to not function properly, then a technician is required to come and fix the machine. The monitoring system at any given interval polls the machines and requests its status. Afterward it writes the status in the database. Consequently, it is required to build an application interface that reads the database. The technicians can at any time see that status through an application program to find out if any machine requires attention. At the end of the week or at the end of the month technicians’ supervisors can obtain uptime statistics of the machines. Statistics are required as a base of observation and review for future service improvements.

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service is to increase the awareness of SMK students about e-commerce. Because one of the goals of SMK is to prepare graduates who are ready to use in the community. Both as a worker and as an entrepreneur.The place of service is a vocational school, namely Fadilah Vocational School, in Pondok Aren, South Tangerang. The problem raised in this service is the importance of recognizing e-commerce. There are many kinds of e-commerce to choose from to increase sales. One of them is the market place. For beginners, the market place is a place that must be taken into account because apart from being easy, all e-commerce facilities are already available there. In addition to the many users, entering the market is no longer difficult. Selling through e-commerce is now considered mandatory. Most of the Indonesian people, especially the younger generation, have used e-commerce as a place to shop. Walking to shop from shop to shop has greatly diminished for the younger generation, being replaced by virtual shop to shop. So e-commerce is a field that is worth understanding and mastering by entrepreneurs. It is hoped that in the future students will be able to understand the importance of e-commerce, be able to weigh between several available e-commerce options, and ultimately be able to use this technology to increase business sales.
