Abstract

ABSTRAK Suku Bajo yang dikenal sebagai Manusia laut, dilihat dari wujud rumahnya mirip sekali dengan bentuk rumah Suku Bugis dan menunjukkan tanda-tanda keseragaman (Arvan: 1999) dalam bentuk (homogeneity of form) terutama terlihat dalam pola dan bentuk ruang, sistem struktur dan konstruksi serta beberapa komponen non-struktur lainnya seperti perletakan tangga dan pintu serta bukaan ventilasi. Selama ini teori dan konsep pemukiman didarat yang berkembang sebatas membahas tentang bentuk kontur/ kelerengan. Tetapi belum mendiskusikan tentang strategi menyelesaikan masalah iklim secara vermakular di laut. Di Desa Torosiaje laut ditemukan beberapa fenomena strategi penyelesaian masaiah seeara natural oleh masyarakat. Beberapa temuan yang dapat dijadikan pembahasan antara lain 1) adanya tipologi rumah dengan ruang Aquarium tempat pelihara ikan, sebagai strategi jikalau iklim tidak bersahabat. 2) penyelesaian bangunan rumah diselesaikan bergotong-royong,. 3) bahan bangunan rumah sebagai bahan lokal, diambil dalam area sendiri 4) sesedikit mungkin lubang di rumah dan pemilihan bahan seng, sebagai strategi mengatasi suhu dingin dan kelembaban laut di lokasi tersebut Kata kunci: Nilai Vernakular, bahan bangunan, iklim, tipologi. ABSTRACT The plateau settlement is one typology of settlement in Java Some theory about the it have been presented the problem solving of contour or sloping land, but not discuss about the strategy of climatic solution yet. At Kapencar Village we founded some phenamenxs ofprobkm sohatg naturally. Sane strategies are I) the building typologies have thejogan as strategy to muity activities and the pogo as strategy to suport the tobacco and com own activities. 2) The cut and fill construstion as the strategy cf sloping land 3) The pebble became the buUding material locally, that it put from yard themselves. 4) The tittle ventilation and the zirk material as the strategy of the too cold and high humidity climate.
